  1. It is a great trailer. I tried a 3.6 Crazy Flapper on a Mini Max today and loved it. I rigged it horizontally like you would on a jig. I tore off the top 2 'legs'.
  2. I guess I've never thrown a shaky head on a rod that long. You have this model?
  3. Forget the knowledge and skills involved in being a pro angler. Most of us here wouldn't even be able to handle the stress and pressure that goes along with being a professional angler.
  4. I feel like I'm a pretty good angler. I've been fishing for some time (I'm 47) and I'm still constantly trying to learn new things and tweak things I already know. With that said, in a 1 V 1 challenge, I'm 100% certain Jacob Wheeler would smack me into next week. Even if he weren't using his forward-facing sonar.
  5. Absolutely.
  6. Anybody have any experience with the Tatula line (the $150 line, not the Elite or XT). I have the 7'1 med-light drop shot rod, which I love. I've been looking for another rod for shaky head, neko etc. I figured the 7'0 medium would be a good choice but I've read a few places that it's closer to a MH than a medium? It is rated to 3/4 oz. They also have a 6'10 medium that's rated to only 3/8 oz. In my experience most mediums are rated up to 1/2 oz or 5/8 oz. Just wondering if anybody has fished either of these rods. Thanks.
  7. Mike "Bait Monkey" Siebert.
  8. Definitely. Not the first bait I grab when fishing smallies, but the Megabass SV-3 in Ayu color is awesome. Fish just like that. No added trailer.
  9. Thanks! I've been looking to add another flip/pitch setup to the arsenal. Something for modest cover (not punching). What size weight/rigs do you think is it's sweet spot? Do you know how much it weighs? The only Dobyns I have is a Sierra and a Kaden (and Fury SB rod). They are on the heavier side (weight-wise) but in hand they balance great. I know a lot of people throw jigs on this rod. Not sure if the 745 would be better for what I'm looking to do?
  10. What model (rod) is that?
  11. I think you're splitting hairs with a lot of those Sleeper Gill colors. Many are quite similar. And live gills may be darker/lighter depending on the water they live in, or if they're living under mats/pads. With that said, this has been by far my most productive color. Pumpkinseed.
  12. The infamous 6'10 medium Expride A for $175. Must...resist. But I love my other Expride's sooo much. What to do...
  13. Don't know anything about these rods. But buy one, get one for $19. https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2FArkPromo%3Ffbclid%3DIwAR2mO3S43-kUFFGMbY8r4S4KHxSFCJyqv7Fvz5jc_yDWc8UW35-LYjsKs-Q&h=AT1C9bzzpmv4lGc8fwC6JuiVZcGXuZz2e19TmjRO3PltI6-X53lVHO6zqt2wdMwJpXaqeyTwZ4r_R0gS8WeRrbZ2t_oYtZ5HN-XjXlNmLSCyCoY9fY7oOQuvXUQjfsjugta8&__tn__=%2CmH-R&c[0]=AT3LXy6BFk2Bgj0zodQCt29a9a1Puvab3Vkip4_U3nLCPMo4A-vyk4u0Y7ebNpBs7e8wvNORQOTeCzDcF_nr3Kpvx1q7Mf7JuKoPKt_i2A9dVzKsJUk7MwC0eAPoIvO9nC6Sg5XRqo92e_KrQUsTpiBqm2fAVUxg8kw92S308Oy_H0xfNf_o7rzFgMNWoUsG9lkk8gKaJJiKvQ
  14. Do all JDM Daiwa reels come with 80-85mm handles? I read somewhere that's the case. I like the 90mm of the US versions.
  15. Ok, just got email. If you're signed up for emails you have to click on the link to activate early discount.
  16. In my experience with this in the past, even in checkout it doesn't show the discount. Only when I get the confirmation email I'll see it. (Daiwa and Shimano)
  17. The majority of my rods run between $200-$350. But when these rods were first announced, they definitely made me raise my eyebrows. It seemed like this rod should be more than the listed $99.99. Lately I've been testing out rods on the 'lower end' of the price scale. Either just to have as utility rods, or to test out for friends and my nephew. Lately, the Ark Tharp Honey Badger Hammer has been a really nice surprise. As well as the 6th Sense Lux 7'2 med-heavy/mod-fast. So after seeing more coverage on the new Tatula XT from iCast, as well as PunchFishing's (he generally has really expensive taste) video review on them, I decided to get my hands on one. I have yet to get it on the water, but in hand, and just the cosmetics of it, it indeed feels and looks like a rod that should be more expensive than $100. I got 15% off, so at $85 I'd say it's an absolute steal. If anyone is interested, I'll report back after actually fishing it. Here's PunchFishing's video.
  18. Lethal Weapon IV Swim Jig comes thru grass better than any other jig I've used.
  19. I was watching earlier. One thing I always wonder is, when they're live fishing, how are they getting these weights in real-time for the BassTrakk? They aren't being weighed right away like they do in MLF.
  20. My favorite color today has been Bone and Pea Soup Green.
  21. I haven't used it, but the Dobyns guys rave about the Champ XP 736 for froggin'.
  22. You have to pay $30/year to be a premium member.
  23. Not so fast. I got a text update this morning saying it's now made it's way across the border to Eau Claire. It's now "delayed" there. But hey, at least it's in the correct state! Baby steps. Literal baby steps. Maybe I'll get it before the lakes freeze over. ?
