  1. *Disclaimer- I would never keep a bass, but if you do, that's you're right* ?
  2. Got a few more rods to try out. 7'2 H Shimano Zodias weighed in at an impressive 4.47 oz. That's lighter than my 7'2 MH Expride A's. I'm sure the monocoque handle has a lot to do with that. And then I was intrigued by the 6th Sense Team 6 casting rod. The 7'1 MH weighed in at a whopping 5.94 oz. That's more than my 7'11 XH Expride A. I could tell as soon as I pulled it out of the tube that the sucker weighed a lot. Curious how much of that has to do with the woven-style handle. I'll likely be selling this one.
  3. It had been YEARS since I subscribed to any magazines. Used to always get BASSMASTER, In-Fisherman (the best by far IMO), Outdoor Life and Field & Stream. About a year and a half ago I started getting BASSMASTER in the mail again. I never subscribed, and all of my friends/family swear they didn't order it for me. Anyways, with internet I don't read magazines anymore. I'll sometimes page thru the new BASSMASTER I get in the mail, then toss it. I just got the Ray Scott issue the other day. This is definitely one I'll be holding on to.
  4. Because hard bottomed bass make the fishin' world go 'round.
  5. That's tough. I have so many different squarebills. If I had to pick my go-to's...6th Sense Crush 50X, KVD 1.5 (Hard Knock), Lucky Craft 1.5, River2Sea Biggie, 13 Fishing Scamp.
  6. Shipped the following day.
  7. Moving bait....softer tip allows the bait to be sucked in without you pulling the bait away from the fishes mouth. I like a mod-fast but with some nice backbone.
  8. TW has kind of taken a beating in this thread. So I think it's only fair to give some good pub when it's warranted. I placed a decent-sized order (standard ground) on June 22, including some rods. So a rod tube and a box. It shipped out the following day and I received it on June 27. Late last night I placed an order. Half of the order shipped out this morning already.
  9. TW 4th of July sale starts now for those on mailing list. Runs through July 6 I believe. 15% off.
  10. Finally tried this ridiculous, do-nothing bait the other day. And all I can say is I'm sold! This thing was complete magic. I was having a tough day when I decided to rig one up. 2nd cast, wham! 5th cast, bam! 11th cast, thank you ma'am!! I was hoping I wouldn't like them. They're just so dang pricey and mine weren't durable at all. @FishTank you say yours lasted a long time? What hook were you using? I tried a few different EWGs. Thinking I might try a screw lock EWG next time out.
  11. Shoot. Probably the Rage Menace. I especially like it as a swim jig/bladed jig trailer. But I am a big fan of X Zone stuff as well.
  12. Appreciate it! Anybody else buy a Fortrex more recently?
  13. Quick question guys. I'm looking to get a new Fortrex. I was also gonna get a TH Marine handle/cable (unless you have a better recommendation). The guy I spoke to at a local marina said the Fortrex comes with a cable. But I swore they just came with the basic rope/cord that usually ends up breaking. Did they change this or does he not know what he's talking about? Thanks!
  14. Straight braid makes a world of difference.
  15. Can't go wrong with the Curado 150 MGL.
  16. Haven't tried it but I imagine it'd do well on a scrounger head.
  17. This probably doesn't deserve it's own thread, but not sure where else to put it. I know some have asked in the past what trailer to use with the Z-Man Mini Max. Well today I paired the the smaller version (3.75) Swimon with it, and I can say it's a perfect fit. Also, I bought some Rage Magnum Menace's a while back. First time getting the magnum size, but wanted to try them as a swim jig trailer. I've always ran the regular size, but wanted to create a bigger profile/more thump for dirtier water. Another awesome match. I just trim off maybe the first 1/8-1/4" to shorten it a bit. Here are both trailers compared to the "normal" size Menace/Swimon (on a Jackhammer).
  18. Whatever you do, get a Sierra 734. I have the micro guides version (there's also regular size guides). Straight 40# braid fishing a Super Fluke/Caffeine Shad/Flush= ?
  19. For the 39th time, mods, please lock me out of this thread. Thanks.
  20. These guys. Keeps the hook perpendicular. And you want a wacky tool for them, obviously. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Mustad_Wacky_O-Ring_Replacement_Pack_25pk/descpage-MWO.html
  21. I didn't really need more reels at the moment, but that Tatula deal was hard to pass up. The Bait Monkey definitely had his way with me.
  22. Thanks for the heads-up. Got 2 Tatula 100's. A 7:1 and an 8:1. Strangely, all three gear ratios were different prices. The 7:1 was $77. The 8:1 was $83. And the 6:3 was $128. Great deal for a reel that retails at $170.
  23. TW running an insane sale right now on gaiters. Almost 90% off. All gaiters are $3-$5, including AFTCO, Simms etc.
  24. TW order placed on May 31 finally arrives tomorrow!
