  1. Just add some hooks and weights to the order and it will take you over the mark or a new swimbait.
  2. I use that rod for all jigs including football, spinnerbaits, c-rigs, t-rigged plastics and smaller swimbaits. It's a great all around casting rod. If I had to pick one spinning and one casting rod it would be the 6'8 M XF spinning and the 7'0 MH F casting. I have 20 St. Croix rods and these 2 are by far the most used.
  3. Those baits look great, know get the wet already.
  4. The TBF western divisional this year was on a lake that boarders two states. The state which the tournament went out of has a no culling rule. If a fish is caught it must be released or placed into the livewell as part of the days bag limit. Once a fish is placed in the live well it must be brought to the weigh-in. Once you have 5 in the well your done fishing. It can play alot of mind games. Will I catch a bigger fish later in the day or will I not catch one at all and come in without a limit???? YOUR CHOICE!!!!
  5. The money is what you need it costs something like $90,000 to run the elites for the year.
  6. The Yakima is great fishing in the springs. Most of the guys in the top of the standings at the western divisionals were fishing there. They were all running jet boats. I would be VERY careful (actually I would not suggest it at all) running up there in a bass boat.
  7. He is a POW!!! His head has cost him more tournament wins then his fishing ability.
  8. Jewel Eakins jig and Jewel Football jig
  9. I fished the BASS western divisionals there this year. The tournament was is May. That river is incredable and I can't wait to get back there. Those smallies fight like they are on steroids.
  10. For the DD22 and lipless crankbaits I use a St. Croix glass crankin rod 7 foot med. with a mod. fast action.
  11. Work together with you traval partner on finding the pattern during prefishing. Relax and just go out and fish HAVE FUN!!!! Talk to your draw partner the night before about the details the next day. Don't wait till the morning to talk about fishing locations and what half of the day each of you are going to take. If John Stewart has the eastern divisionals do it the same as we did at the western divisionals the boat gas and oil are figured out within your own team. Not the days draw! He will go over all the details at the pre tournament meeting. PM me if you have ?'s CB
  12. The Eakins jig is my #1 jig and I use 4 trailers 1. Zoom lil critter craw 2. Zoom super chunk jr 3. Netbait paca chunk 4. GYCB double tail grub
  13. Mid 70's Colorado
  14. Our club has over 60 members. If we have more non-boaters then boaters during the draw: 1 Check if anyone going as a non-boater would switch to a boater and take there own boat. 2 We call other members with boats that wern't in the draw and see if they want to fish the tournament. 3 We see if anyone with a larger boat would be willing to go 3 in a boat. 4 A non-boater can only draw out once till all the other non-boaters draw out.
  15. Very well put! Fishing with a spinning reel is something you are going to want to learn.
  16. I think your right! The pros are going to fish the bait that gives them the best chance to win no matter what.
  17. Sounds OK! The one thing you might want to add is a 6'6 MF casting rod for topwater.
  18. Jig
  19. Lake Powell is a place you need to fish. It's a few hour drive but if your bringing the boat I would check it out. There are alot of good sized tournaments (bullfrog open). Mcphee is also really good at times but I heard it wasn't fishing that great. Navajo Res. Is also pretty good and holds the Colorado SM state record. Lake Powell and Navajo are a little bit of a drive but if your going to bass fish in Colorado it's always a drive.
