  1. Sent you a PM with some info on the spoons he was using.
  2. You can't go wrong with the zillion!!!!!
  3. Looks like Mark Davis is going to win this one going into the final day even being down 7lb. Velvick and Martens have been fishing the same area and have hammered there spot hard. Davis was been consistant all 3 days. Just my 2 cents!!!!
  4. Makes me think of going to the Rick Clunn approach 1 rod and reel for everything. ;D
  5. Welcome Aboard It all depends on the hooks that the bait comes with. For example Lucky Craft hooks do not need replaced but others might. Alot of the baits are coming out of the package with better hooks now then in the past. This lets the company charge more and increase the profits. However, any hook should be replaced if bent, dull, or damaged. You never want to lose a good fish because your to lazy or cheap to replace your hooks or spend a extra 50 cents. IMHO KVD says that one of the biggest mistakes that anglers make is that the don't change or replace there hooks enough.
  6. In your post you said two different things! That the hook fail right out and at the end you said that you broke this fish off.

  8. Let me think about this one for a second! Ok Zillion or a Zillion how about a Zillion on second thought a Zillion. PS You know if you buy a Daiwa the bait monkey will jump all over your a__ and you will be replacing all you reels to Daiwa. Zillion casting and Sol spinning!!! ;D ;D
  9. Muddy This should be good!!! If you need a observer let me know I will fly out from Colorado to watch this one. Mosqito Lake is in Cortland OH Just outside of the Warren and Youngstown area. I'm grew up there and a big bass will be the size of a average smallmouth on the big lake.
  10. YES!!!!!!!!!!
  11. My first time out this year was a couple weeks ago. I was fishing a tournament on lake Amistad. The time I was on the water I lost 1 Lucky Craft Pointer, 1 Lucky Craft RC 1.5, 1 Hard Core lipless crankbait, 1 Rattletrap, a couple of jigs, 2 Tru Tungston sinkers, a couple of hooks either lost or straightend, and a handful of plastics. Well, it adds up to over $50.00. But I really don't care because thats fishing and I could spend that in a bar in a couple of hours easy and I weighted in over 27lb on day one and that makes losing a couple of lures not so bad.
  12. Dbl uni knot about 7 or 8 twists per side. Wet the knot alot before pulling it together.
  13. RW The Yo-Zuri rattlN vibes are $5.50 and the hard cores are $7.99 at the Sportsmans Warehouse by me. That is there everyday price and it beats BPS $8.99 and $13.00.
  14. ROD: St Croix Legend Elite 68MXF REEL: Daiwa Sol 2500 LINE: Invizx 8lb
  15. Really, what does BPS ever have on sale that you want?
  16. Senko hands down!!
  17. I have never broken a lip on a L.C. I wouldn't care if I did anyway because they flat out catch fish. I can't believe that one hasn't broke either because I throw them into some nasty places and bang the into alot of rocks, stumps, laydowns, ect. If your scared to break or lose a L.C. bait your probley not fishing them in the best places to catch bass. IMO
  18. Lucky Craft Jerkbait (staysee), Lucky Craft Jerkbait (pointer), Megabass Jerkbait (Ito 110) and a small tube (crooked creek)!!!!!!!!!
  19. X2 fourfizz You were one step ahead of me to the post and Ish won the Battle on the Boarder the year before last using there baits. Thanks for the swimbait advice. I'm heading to Amistad friday for our state qual. tournament. I will have some R.I. baits in the boat with all the sexual, disturbing, funny and twisted names. Some of the names get me so worked up I just might need to jump the boarder and get a good lap dance. ;D ;D
  20. Not so many years ago the sweet beaver was as hot as the Chatterbait a year ago and the Basstrix swimbait this year. The company couldn't keep up with production and they were selling on ebay for crazy amounts of money. Fisherman didn't care what the color names were as long as they were catching fish and cashing checks. Now there are more knockoffs of the bait then you can count. They could call the basstrix swimbaits anything they want but people will still buy them.
  21. Got to talk to Denny last weekend at BPS in Denver. We were talking about braided lines. My buddy asked him if he had tried the new Daiwa braid. Thats when he let us know that Daiwa had droped him so he wouldn't be trying it anytime soon. Denny said that he has enough gear to probley last the rest of his life. He did say that he has had some talks with another rod company. I won't say which one but I would love to see this company pick him up.
  22. #1 + #3 50lb Braid #2 65lb Braid #4 - #7 15lb Fluorocarbon #8, #10, and #11 10lb Fluorocarbon #9 12lb or 14lb Mono #12 - #14 8lb Fluorocarbon P.S. Trade the spinning reels in for some Daiwa Sol's ;D ;D ;D
