Looking for a producing spinnerbait on the cheap that also produces.
Booyah pond magic or if you really need something for short money the $1 bin at Walmart always has spinnerbaits. You will need to wire tie the skirt on because it tends to slip off easily but for $1 you can't complain.

A-Jay's 2nd Annual Ice Out / Open Water Countdown Thread ~
Come to the southern part of the state. ~75% of the lakes and ponds I fish in are open. There was a guy trolling the ice edge for trout in Massabesic from Claire's Landing this past weekend. Kingston Lake has also been open for a week or so.

Anyone Have Any Luck In Southern Nh Yet? (4/6/12)
There are a lot of rules and they enforce them. The guys who monitor the ramp also keep an eye on everything you do on the water. If you canoe or kayak, there is a public carry in launch on the next road over that takes all the eyes off how you are fishing

Anyone Have Any Luck In Southern Nh Yet? (4/6/12)
It was partly open from the launch in Auburn for about 300 yds when I drove by Sunday afternoon. The NH fishing group on FB had a video of someone trolling along the ice edge for trout.

How many Panfish can this hold?
I don’t want to be that guy but it should be mentioned, what are the limits for panfish where you are going? Here in NH, no angler can have more than 2 limits worth of fish in the freezer.

New Lake Trout Record set in NH
Unfortunately this is not my fish but the story is still worth sharing. https://nhfishgame.com/2020/02/27/state-record-lake-trout-caught-in-northern-new-hampshire/?fbclid=IwAR3mNf6opP5GoKXR7oEKQoJpXPlUg585n3jYzytB2qdSYMxyTPAybnYdCRc

Lower unit oil
The 80w-90 works as a lighter oil when cold, the 80 part, and the additives make it work like a 90 when it gets hot. Your motor most likely needs a straight 90 but I would doubt you have done any damage running the 80w-90 for a few seasons. Some people don't change the oil, that's where the damage will happen.

Paddletail trailers
I use rage swimmers and have decent success with bass. The pickerel love them, so I tend to lose a few tails.

Garmin Transducers
The gt30 has a stronger signal strength, 500w, for the dv/sv component but is not listed as having a traditional sonar. The gt 52hw has a 350w dv/sv and a 250w traditional chirp element. Both will give you great image quality but the extra cost for the gt52 gives you traditional chirp.

Perception Pescador Pro 100 - bump board storage
maybe a pocket/bungee combo alongside the seat but extending to the rear? attach the pocket at the rear for easy entrance when putting it away from the seating position and use a bungee to control the front portion next to the seat. It would be easily accessible and shouldn't be in the way of anything else

Costly Bass Baits
I've seen you post this before and it has always got me thinking. What type of knot do you use to "tie" lightweight wire leader? I know when we go out into the ocean for sharks we use wire but its a twist style knot.

New to Striped Bass Fishing
Both will work fine. Larger stripers will occasionally take a swimbait but I have much more success using bait. Clams, cut bait, whole fish, worms, will all catch fish and I feel like you stand a better chance of getting something larger this way. There is currently legislation being voted on to require the use of in-line circle hooks for all bait fishing so be aware that J hooks will not be allowed if you choose to use bait. There is also the proposed slot limit for fish that is potentially going to be the regulation for this season. Anything under 28" and over 35" is going to have to be released if the legislation passes.

These combos will work from the jetty but may be a bit on the short side for the beaches. You are definitely on the right track with lure choices. My favorite for catching schoolies is a 6" paddle tail bait on a 1/2 to 1 oz jighead casted out to the upstream side of a current rip and worked back into it and the area below. Make it look like a confused baitfish that got swept up in the current and headed to the bottom for some relief. For the braid to mono/fluro knot v. swivel, it depends on your leader length in my opinion. If I am winding the connection onto the reel, I like a knot. I'll tie a FG knot at home but if i need to put on a new leader while fishing I tend to go back to the double uni. If the connection is to a shorter leader, say 5-6', then a swivel will work fine because it won't be coming through the guides.

Lead Ban
I get stopped about once a year by the game warden. Only 1 time in all of the recent years was I asked about lead. It was the first year of the ban, I was fishing with my kids and using split shots fishing for trout at a local fishing derby. I had switched to steel because I knew about it. He checked everyone that day. I never saw him write a citation but did see him collect plenty of sinkers when the derby was over. I think it was more of an educational visit to let the once or twice a year guys know it wasn’t allowed anymore.

Would You Fish Out This? Could You?
I grew up fishing out of a Whaler. Many great memories with my dad and grandfather. Great boats, never got soaked in the rough water and always had the reminder that even if it got destroyed, it would still be floating. My dad and uncle decided to sell the Whaler after my grandfather passed because they each had boats of their own but to this day they still check boat trader and the likes to see what is out there.

The one lure fisherman
Worms are a very versatile bait. The options on how to rig and use them are enormous. Topwater, fish them fast and weightless. Subsurface you can swim them at any speed. On the bottom, where do I start? Texas, Carolina, split shot, mojo, jika, neko, on a jighead, need to punch, just up the weight. Give me an assortment of worms, hooks, and weights and I honestly believe I can catch a fish anywhere.

Aluminum Angle Issues

Aluminum Angle Issues
I would guess aluminum pop rivets would be fine for anything that will be internal to the framing. Anything going into the hull or that will be exposed to the deck should be a blind rivet so you don't get leaks. Have you seen any of the build outs with pictures in the tin boat group? They have massive amounts of information and pictures to help guide you through a deck build.

Setting up the Reservoir Rig
You'll need to make sure the transducer can fit between the skeg and prop on the PowerDrive. I don't know what that distance is but any sidescan transducer will be at least 6" in length

minn kota powerdrive v2 battery questions
If you run 24v into a 12v TM you will damage it. The solution you are looking for is either a larger battery or 2 batteries wired in parallel. Two batteries may be the better option if you plan on going to a 24v system when you upgrade the TM because you can switch the batteries from parallel to series with some simple rewiring.
