  9. Remember the chrome reverse, American mags,Moon discs and Spokes on the cars and trucks.Chrome on the dash boards and steering wheels. My parents were gone one day and my older brother went off with one of his buddies and left the keys to his 66 Chevelle on the bookcase.I snatched the keys and took off, went down the road ,picked up my buddy Deacon(his nickname after Deacon Jones of the LA Rams).14 years old and no drivers liscense having the time of our lives burning up all my brothers gas.Nobody ever even knew we did it.
  10. Those wooden paddles that the principals and coaches kept in their desk drawers meant business. You got outta line they would blister your hide before school was out and the majority of the parents were in favor of the paddle.
  11. Going fishing with Daddy in his 49 Chrysler New Yorker. Going to opening night in Atlanta Fulton County Stadium in 1966, I was 10.The Braves had just moved here from Milwaukee.Tony Cloninger pitched a strong 13 innings but we lost to the Pirates when Willie Stargill hit a 2 out 2 run homer in the top of the 13th.Braves catcher Joe Torre hit his second homer in the bottom of the 13th but it wasn’t enough, Pirates held on to win 3-2. I remember the day our phone rang and my Daddy fell to his knees upon receiving the tragic news that his best friend had fallen to his death while carving the Confederate Memorial of Lee, Jackson and Davis. I remember the oil trucks spraying the dirt road in front of our house in the hot dry Summers. I remember using the hand held paper fans to cool off in church and hoping the long winded preacher would finally get to the benediction.
  12. Glad to see Neal get this win. He’s been so close many times and he finally got it done.Well done!
  13. Very sorry for your loss
  14. Got a contract at a High school in 1990 replacing all the classroom doors with solidcore birch slabs. That kept us busy for a while
  15. Hung my share of solid slabs.Heart pine were my favorites.Scored the edges with a utility razor knife rip planed with a worm drive Skilsaw.like Hammer said, sealed them to prevent warping.i always sanded them first before sealing.
  16. I mainly use Big game and Sufix mono on most of my setups. I’ve got braid on a couple of spinning reels and flouro on a couple also. Not a thing wrong with changing up from time to time to keep things interesting.Part of the fun of bass fishing to me is using the fine gear we’re allowed to choose from.
  17. I was framing an addition on the back of a house from the kitchen side. The homeowner stuck his head out the door and said look through the window at the tv.We saw the smoke and fire from the first tower, stood there a while watching and saw the second plane hit the other tower. We will never forget that day.
  18. Fished it many times, great lake

  22. I made my living in the Trades, primarily Carpentry. Framing, trim and concrete formwork. Also poured concrete ,flatwork and poured walls. Was an accomplished Roofer also, flatwork, asphalt and fiberglass shingles.Being retired now I look back and know I really loved the work I did but often wonder what if I had got a degree what path would I be traveling now.No matter what you do,give it your best shot and learn all you can , you will be well served as you will provide good service to your clients.
