  1. A number of folks can't afford or don't want to use 10 setups . I fish from the bank a lot. It sure cuts down on the frustration by carring 1 or 2 rods. Now I carry 2 rods for bank fishing. A baitcaster and a spinning rod. Made do for a long time with a 5'6" All Star. Then I used a 6' M Bionic Blade for just as long. IMHO I would go for a 6' M or MH Bionic Blade (or something comparable depending on where you shop). A little less expensive, go to Wal-Mart and get a Berkley Cherrywood in a 6' M or MH. If you like spinning better try those suggestions in a 6' MH.
  2. I'll talk to anybody that's looking at tackle and if they need help it comes out sooner or later....OR....I have learned a thing or two ;D... As Ever, skillet

I just replied to CRF with this, I'm real fond of Zoom Brush Hogs and Baby Brush Hogs in green pumkin. T-rigged with 1/8 or 3/16 oz weight and usually just a slow drag on bottom. Throw them into brush piles, downed trees or any place you think Mr Bass is hideing ... As Ever, skillet
  5. Man, did you leave yourself wide open for spending some real money ;D!!! I'll just add Brush Hogs and Baby Brush Hogs by ZOOM in green pumkin... As Ever, skillet
  6. Have been fishing for bass for quite a while and have never been consistant in hooking in the top or bottom lip. Don worry be hoppy !!! As Ever, skillet
  7. The articles mentioned are well worth your time and the links that RW gave will help that much more. While looking and reading all this keep notes on things you want explained and that way you can ask specific questions that will get you better answers. Also there are quite a few members in FLA that will be willing to help. WELCOME to the forums!!! As Ever, skillet
  8. Voted baitcaster. Haven't fished spinning gear very long at all compared to baitcasting. My accuracy is better on baitcaster and most of the techniques I use are more suited to it. After saying all that, would hate to give up my spinning outfit... As Ever, skillet

Thanks for your help folks ! Big O, I've got dial-up and it takes like 2 to 2 1/2 days to download a 2 min video :-[. Just bought some keel weights lately so I'll give 'em a try weightless (like a Fluke) and weighted... As Ever, skillet

Any of you folks that have fished the Rage Tail Shad, any tips on how to work them? Haven't been on the water with them yet, was wondering if they worked anything like Flukes? If not, some help would sure be appreciated . Thanks... As Ever, skillet
  15. Thanks for the tip, Catt. Sorry about the back (don't feel like the Lone Ranger). Been there, done that and bought the darned T-shirt... As Ever, skillet
  16. I have a Crucial 6'6" M XF tip and think it's GREAT! It's the only rod in that price range I've tried so take this with a grain of salt. If and when I need something with more backbone, it's gonna be a MH. Have a Citica 200D on my Crucial and IMHO WHAT a combo... As Ever, skillet
  17. I use 6# on my spinning set-up and 12# on 2 baitcasters and have only good things to say about it... As Ever, skillet
  18. Before getting YZUS I tried the P-Line CX and really liked the strength and it cast well too. IMHO it has issues with memory. This was before trying KVD Line Conditioner. I think it would really help the CX. If for any reason I couldn't get YZUS, that's what I'm gonna do... As Ever, skillet
  19. CONGRATS You done good and a great way to look at the situation... As Ever, skillet
  20. I was fishing from the bank on a small inlet. Had cast across to other bank, overhanging bank with small willow tree. I was fishing with a jig and pork trailer. The bait couldn't have sank more than 6". The fish pulled drag right after setting the hook. Just then she rolled on the top (nice fish) shook her head, opened her mouth and the jig came slingshoting back at me. The fish pulled drag just by holding onto the bait ! This was when I had just got back into fishing. Worried about it for a long time trying to figure what I did wrong. Finally decided it was just a case of Fish 1 and skillet 0 :-[... As Ever, skillet
  21. I never saw a topwater that I didn't LOVE . Probably not the most productive bait but still......Just got one of the clear Spook Jrs 8-). Also got a pack of (2) feathered hooks. Gonna change out rear treble to see what happens. Wish me LUCK... As Ever, skillet
  22. Can't add much to the replies you've already gotten so WELCOME to the forums!!! As Ever, skillet
  23. Beg your pardon :-[. Didn't realize there was a sale that depended on it. Thought maybe you needed a little more patience. my mistake... As Ever, skillet BTW next time you might mention that...
