  1. Thanks for the review, the ProVB XS is at the top of my list and your review definitely helped me settle on some options (jackplate, TM length). From the website the boat/motor/trailer length is 21'3", but doesn't say if that's with the tongue up. Do you happen to have that dimension? My garage is limited to 21'.
  2. Amazon has small (2) 2g loctite tubes for $2.86, perfect size for keeping around in a tackle bag. https://www.amazon.com/Loctite-Super-2-Gram-Tubes-1399965/dp/B0041NTBZM
  3. Agreed, I have the 6'10 OG Tatula, I wouldn't throw top the stuff the OP wants on it. Maybe whopper ploppers and frogs, but definitely not spooks or poppers, and definitely not small plugs. The 6'10 is a good all around for jigs, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, and the like though. I had the 7'M/XF and it had a nice soft tip but moved up to the Tatula Elite AGS 7' M/MH, but not sure about the 7'1 MH/XF.
  4. TTU100 vs the TACT100? No, it is not.
  5. Lew's Custom Plus Speed Stick Topwater, LCPTWS rated 1/8-1/2oz. I mostly throw poppers on it, but I've thrown small spinnerbaits, shallow squarebills, 1/4oz traps, ned rigs. The jerkbait version of it looks interesting too, but it's rated 1/4-3/4 so that didn't suit my needs for my lighter micro poppers.
  6. No, just the 100. I believe the 150 is basically the same as the old Tatula (non-CT). And if that's the case, yes, it's a tank, but the form factor of the 100 is still way better.
  7. https://www.sportsmansoutfitters.com/products/daiwa-tatula-100-baitcast-fishing-reel?_pos=6&_sid=ada449986&_ss=r But if you can wait, I think the 2020 Tatula SV TW will be a sweet reel.
  8. Do you have a set budget? I didn't like the body of the CT. The Tatula 100 feels much better in my hands and is about the same price at Sportsman Outfitters.
  9. I had the same problem with banging into my forearm, ribs, etc. I found the Lew's Custom Plus Speed Stick, 6'8 ML/F (LCPTWS); rated 1/8-1/2oz and throws small jerbaits/poppers great. I have an Alphas SV105 paired with it and it's my favorite popper/jerkbait rod. Handle is like 9" from the trigger, and has a mag-like taper. I've pulled 8lb snakeheads out of hydrilla with it. 10. That would be based on your preference. I don't like broomsticks, so I prefer mod/fast heavy or a xf heavy with a soft tip. You could use it for carolina rigs too.
  11. I keep an empty spool around and a cordless drill and long chuck bit with some rubberbands wrapped onto the bit to make the spool fit snug.
  12. I use the 7’ M/MH Ehrler with a SV105 and it is very versatile. It has a soft tip and will be fine for worms, jerkbaits, chatterbaits, and 1/8+TRD ned rigs. It’s my go to bank fishing rod because it pretty much does everything, including swimbaits at 7/8 oz.
  13. My wife came through for one of my big ticket wish items.
  14. Can you fish without a pedal drive, yes. But it will make your life much much easier. If you plan to fish in the kayak for a few years, get the pedal drive.
  15. 12/29 Fishing Report Wrapped presents, replaced a faucet and planned to fish a large Keitech at Widewater. Walked out the front door and walked right back in.
  16. I'm tempted to try those on a Zillion 7'2 MH/R-G, do you reel while sweeping to set the hook?
  17. Tatula Elite 7' M/MH, it is XF, but it has a soft tip. Before that I used a Zillion G1 7' M/XF and it also had a soft tip and worked well for spinnerbaits too.

  19. Just FYI - Sportsman's Outfitters has the Tatula 100 for $100, if you don't care about the 60th anniversary cosmetics.
  20. Really not sure what else I can tell you. I just did it, but maybe 10% is too good to be true for you.
  21. No stipulations, when you get the GC code and PIN you can use it, it may take a day or two to get through processing, but that's it. Simply enter your email as the gift recipient.
  22. I forget if they end on the sale day or not...I actually have never bought anything during their 25 day sale other than the 10% off gift card offer. I think their 20% of BF deal is the best, stacked with a prior year 10% off gift card. That being said, I think your only bet to accomplish a single transaction with free shipping for $50 is to hope that they do not end until the 25 day sale is over. OK then an even better option is to buy the 10% off GC then wait for next year's BF 20%. Support your local tackle shop and get it for the $39.95, Amazon and TW charge sales tax in most states now anyways.
  23. Another option is to wait for TW to offer their 10% off gift cards, then buy it with the GC.
