  1. I don't think they were supposed to show all the deals yet, they are supposed to be revealed each day!
  2. Lol yes, everything is justified for posts after a couple days ago.
  3. Per forum rules, you need to state a price. I have my eye on that toilet spray, I have two boys under 10 that have bad aim.
  4. I would go with the Tat SV. For me, hardbaits can get tricky to throw sometimes. The SV spool helps manage potential backlashes. You may get 5-10 more yards with the others, but top waters for me are all about target casting, especially near shorelines or structure.
  5. For the Zillion G2 rod, yes sensitive enough for me. It's not hard to miss the feel of the plug banging into rocks, and I just keep cranking until I feel weight. I don't think the OG Tatula was all that sensitive compared to some of my other rods in that price range. I have a few Tatula Elites, and I think they are more sensitive than the OG Tatula's. If I had a choice between the two, I'd get the TAEL721MRB-G based on my experience with the Zillion-G, and non-G versions of the OG Tatula and Tatula Elites.
  6. I have the Zillion G2 7'2 MHR and MHR-G. For cranking, the flex on the MHR-G is much better, you get that true-parabolic bend without needing to exert a lot of resistance against the rod. The MHR doesn't flex down into blank as much as the G version, and takes more force to get to the backbone. I use this rod for heavy treble topwater, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits. Out of those two rods you're considering, I would get the Tatula 7' MR. It's rated for 1/4-3/4oz which can handle the lures you listed, and it will give you a better parabolic flex while cranking and to pinning a fish.
  7. Woke up today and saw temps would get near 60, so I took the day off with a plan to mow the lawn one more time along with mulching the leaves, then head out to the C&O for fishing hike and cigar. The grass had frost on it and it thawed by 10AM, but it made it a little more difficult for my electric mower to mulch since it was wet, I had to run over it on a higher deck height first, then scalp it so it wouldn't clog. When I was finished it was about 12:30PM, so I quickly headed out to Swains. Perfect temps for a fall day, I could have worn a t-shirt and been fine. I hiked past some unfishable water due to all the falling leaves and finally got some sporadic clear water. First fish was a small one, hit a white/chartreuse war eagle finese spinnerbait with a chartreuse GY grub trailer. Just a bit further down, got another one, closer to 1lb but he was a fun catch. I ran the spinnerbait through some leaves and I saw him dart out from about 5 feet away and smash the lure. There were a lot of sections that weren't fishable, and they looked like this: South of the maintenance house, the canal widens a little and that's where I got the best fish of the day. I saw one single tree limb sticking out of the water on the far side and casted to it. About 3 cranks later I felt weight and just kept reeling. She didn't fight hard, but she was hard to move. Didn't have a scale, but she was over 3 lbs, maybe 3.5, huge mouth, just a little stunted.
  8. Tatula Elite 7'6 Flippin AGS rod. It's really light, and has a soft tip for a heavy/fast blank.
  9. I've have several of their hard swim baits, the 3.5" jointed shad is my favorite. For about $5 per bait, they're a good value, but I will say I've had to slightly adjust a couple to run perfectly vertical. Not a big deal considering the price of the bait. If it were Megabass or Lucky Craft, which are like $15+ baits, I'd expect them to be absolutely perfect out of the box.
  10. Personals preference, is a Steez CT SV worth $500 more than a Tatula 100? For some yes.
  11. Nicely done, they had stocked some trout there a few weeks ago. I hit up the C&O canal from Swains and walked south just past the maintenance house. Got a small 1lber, got hit two other times. Saw a few good 2+lbers, but could not get them to bite.
  12. I actually never asked for it because I like their Fluorokote and Copoly already! But I will be trying it out for that price.
  13. The stock spool doesn't hold that much line, so if you're using heavy mono, you might have to swap out to a deeper non-SV spool.
  14. Call them and find out for yourself, I don’t think you’ll be satisfied with any answers from this board.
  15. Yes they will be 20% off after you check out. I got 2 DCs last year during the BF sale.
  16. I really enjoy the Tatula Elite 7' M/MH AGS with a SV105 (with a inductor modification). After having one of these set ups for several months, I bought another same set up.
  17. For me, the DC excels at two things, bombing lures and casting wind/air resistant type baits (like spinner baits). For lighter lures, or precision casting, I usually have Daiwa SV reels on those rods. But, the DC should have no issues on the rod and lures you're going to throw.
  18. Seems like the site is fixed...nice and spiffy now. I was productive for the last couple days of work...not so much now.
  19. That Tat is nice, but I have one small gripe about it. Once in a while when I'm opening the bale, my hand will rub against the small part that sticks up from the drag knob and change the drag. This is on a 2000 size Tat, where I keep my drag light for panfish, etc, maybe not an issue for other larger sized Tats.
  20. Dick's has $20 of $100, and stacks with sale item rods that I looked at in the shopping cart. Dobyn's Champion XP 704SF is $150 before tax with the $20 off. (MSRP $250) Daiwa Tatula 7'2 MH/F TTU721MHFS is $82 before tax with the $20 off. (MSRP $150)
  21. Does the Bantam MGL XG have brass gears? I recall someone saying the 6.2 had brass, and the 8.1 had aluminum, but I may be crazy.
  22. Only if you use the Basspro/Cabela's CLUB Mastercard though.
  23. Mostly this, if you have to texpose a plastic, forget about it with the trokar's. If the plastic has a built in hook gap, they will work OK. I prefer Owner needlepoint hooks for my terminal.
  24. I prefer accuracy over distance and 7’ rods is my preferred length for most presentations. I do throw a toad on a 7’4 rod, but it has a really soft tip that makes it load real easy and is pretty accurate for the length/lure weight.
  25. Per your profile, you're in Orange County VA, so my guess is that you'd be spending a good amount of time on Lake Anna which is a decent size body of water. $10K will get you a nice used boat, or something new like the Tracker Classic which I think is a little smaller than I'd like for Lake Anna. https://www.boattrader.com/boats/zip-20854/radius-100/price-1000,11000/year-2000/sort-price:desc/ This is a nice used boat that can handle the Potomac, LKA, and even do some bay boating, but you'd need to add a trolling motor and some electronics, which could run you another $1,500 or more. It seems to be listed just above average retail, so there may be some wiggle room to get it down to like $9,500. https://www.boattrader.com/listing/2006-mako-1801-103624051/?refSource=standard+listing
