  1. Tatula Elite 721MHRB. I actually like the reel seats better on these than the OG Tatula, and I think they're more sensitive. I don't have this rod, but I have the 7' M/MH AGS and it's the #1 rod I pick up in my line up.
  2. I have a 6'3 L rod that throws 1/16-3/8oz lures and creek adventures, and a 7' ML rod for 1/8-1/2oz lures and drop shotting. Like other said, I like the shorter rod for pin point targetting and fitting into tight spaces such as creeks.
  3. Yep, you connect the blue to brown for both connections. Unit 1 --------------- Unit 2 Brown----------------Blue Blue------------------Brown I think they are either 16 or 18 gauge. I bought a waterproof heatshrink kit from Amazon and used the red ones. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FLYSW7X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  4. Totally slipped my mind, the Daiwa Tatula Elite AGS 7' M/MH rod. I have two of them and they're spectacular for about 90% of presentations. It can throw true 1/8oz lures all the way up to 1oz jigs/trailers with plenty of backbone and a nice soft tip. I didn't like the silver color at first, but I got past it after throwing it. Should be around $238 after the labor day discount and worth every penny for that price.
  5. I think Tackle Warehouse is going to have their Labor Day sale soon, so wait for that if you can. I think it's 15% off off the top of my head. I think Megabass is excluded though.
  6. Megabass Orochi Tour Versatile. It should come with a Fuji Keeper, but I also use these:
  7. I've been using the 25lb Power Clips with good success. I throw spooks and poppers on the same rod, so I'm switching between poppers (sizes, rattle sound, color) and spooks a lot. I remove the split rings on the lures and sometimes the hooks. I always check the line after a catch though.
  8. Yes, most of my top water lure hits come on the pause. When I'm walking a spook or popper, and I give it that pause, the feathers on the rear treble fans out, similar to a fish's tail. I think it's a secondary action that can trigger a strike if they're just following and not committing. I've been using the mustad feathered red hooks.
  9. My alma mater is playing you 9/28, Towson Tigers. Better watch out!
  10. It's also going to depend on your knot, but I've used 50lb KastKing braid with a Palomar to bend out a 3/0 Gammy EWG on a horny toad on more than one occasion.
  11. What are your brake pin settings on the K?
  12. It doesn’t have a soft tip. The 7’4 elite ish Monroe frog rod does.
  13. Try it with a SV105, it is awesome!
  14. I’m up for either.
  15. Got out this morning with my youngest son to Madwoman as my son calls it (Mattawoman). Pretty slow until the tide turned to incoming around 10AM, and this time I had my senko rod. Immediate dividends with a 2lber, a few dinks, and a 4lber. Really busy out there in the AM too...busier today than on a weekend.
  16. They have algorithms bots that adjust prices based on various factors. I've picked up some terminal tackle, like Gamakatsu and Owner that are like 60% off from TW retail prices, and then when I go back to buy more, the prices change back to normal like 2 mins later. Consider yourself lucky and you got a great deal!
  17. Amazon bots sometimes make mistakes like that. I got a 6'10 MH Tatula OG rod for $91 a couple years ago. They will charge you the amount you placed the order at. The caveat is, if it was in stock then it will ship. Sometimes it won't be in stock and the drop ship from the manufacturer but what they will do is wait and wait and wait and then tell you the order can't be filled.
  18. Try that route first before spending a lot of cash on a whole new rod. I use a 12lb Big Game mono, and it has a lot more give than the YHB that I use on my other rods. I don't have any experience with Defier, but apparently that's top of the line mono.
  19. What line are you using too? On some rods where it's light cover, I use mono for some "cushion".
  20. What top waters are you throwing? Frogs, poppers, spooks, WP....they're all different.
  21. Yep, it probably weakened a spot in the line and, voila, that was your cast off.
  22. Any previous backlashes on that line?
  23. I have a 6'7 Perigee II, for $60 it's a good rod. Not super sensitive, but I use it for moving baits so there's not much guess work involved. The hook keeper is a little flimsy, the foam isn't the highest quality, but for $60 the blank and guides are good components. I'd buy another one if I needed to.
  24. Tatula Elite 7' AGS M/MH is my best all around rod, throws 1/8-1oz and is true to those specs.
  25. I'm in, how does Aug 25th look?
