Feelfree Lure 13.5 Issues
I don't have the answer to your question, but the guys over at Snaggedline might. http://www.snaggedline.com/

Toad hooks
Yes, it should be about the same gauge as a chatterbait hook. It's when a fish digs into cover that you may have problems.

Bait caster choice
Buy a used Fuego CT for $50-$60 (there's one on the Flea Market forum right now actually) and see if you like baitcasting. If not, you can easily resell it for almost the same price you bought it for.

Another braid question
I use 20lb braid on some of my "finesse" baitcasters, and 6lb fluoro on others. I think the main reason why you want to go as light as possible with line is the belly that heavier lines create with insufficient lure weight. The heavier the lure, the heavier the line because there's enough weight from the lure to get the line taut. I throw mainly 1/8-1/2oz lures with the 20lb and with lighter lures, even with a backlash it's not heavy enough to create a bad dig-in.

Did he tournament fish(solo) during other times of the year, where bedding bass were not around? That would also seem like a red flag.

Is this the free lure.

Daiwa Reel Warranty
I sent one reel back to them. Fill out their form, attach a purchase invoice and wait about 2 weeks and it should show up in your mail. They include a service invoice which shows the parts they replaced, but zero balance due if under warranty.

Garmin Force trolling motor
That TM looks quite beefy (self deployment, electric trimming?)....and not so budget friendly!

1 month review - Daiwa Tatula Elite Casting Rod
The Tatula Elite 7' M/MH AGS is my favorite rod, I really like the AGS guides and super soft tip. I just got the 7'4 H/F AGS frog rod and will be giving it a whirl this weekend.

Maryland's Who's who!
Dude, I can't believe you walked all the way from the state park down there! My plan for father's day didn't quite pan out, the water at Great Falls park was way down and totally unfishable...just a few months ago it was fishable. Maybe they're moving the canal work down here now that they're done at Swains. We hiked about a mile up and then back and then headed to Five Guys for shakes.

Powell rods
I have a 2017 Powell Max 3D 7'1 MH/XF spinning rod. I initially bought it for jig fishing when I first started getting back into angling, and have since pretty much just bought casting rods/reels. But, I will say that it felt more sensitive to me than the Tatula rods that I had, and on par with the Zillions that I now have. My issue with those Powell's is that they're all fast/XF, and the Tatula/Zillion line up had a more diverse rod line-up. They have a new 2019 Max line up, that looks to have upgraded components (alconite vs SiC) and new blanks (green vs black). My current stable of rods is pretty full, but if one of my rods were to break, I would give the new Powell's a shot.

Boat/Trailer repairs at home - remove boat from trailer?
I'm actually going to remove the wood bunks and replace them with these: https://www.easternmarine.com/self-centering-bunk-glide-ons-86162 Removing the old bunks will be easy, I will just have to check the hardware when I get the new boards in to make sure they work with the braces. I think your plan is fine, but I think the same issue will be having the right hardware on the new bunks on your boat to make it a smooth replacement. But it's the fender covers that I think will take more McGuyvering...

Boat/Trailer repairs at home - remove boat from trailer?
Yeah was hoping there was some kind of roller hack someone has thought of. Closest ramp to me is about 30 mins, and it's always busy. Not having the right tool there would be a PITA.

Boat/Trailer repairs at home - remove boat from trailer?
I need to do some repairs to the boat trailer (replace boat bunks and fender covers), and I'd like to work on it in my garage where I have my tools. The boat is not overly huge or heavy, 14' fiberglass boat. How do you go about removing the boat off the trailer?

Looking for a new baitcaster $300 budget
Excellent, the only adjustment I make is the tension knob when using lighter/heavier lures.

Understanding the Diawa Reel line-up - when is a Tatula SV a bad idea?
Distance is fine if you set them up correctly.

Faulty Drag On Daiwa Tatula SV TWS?
If you're locked down and you inspected the drag stack and it's still slipping, my guess would be pinion gear/main gear is slipping.
