2026 B.A.S.S FFS Rule Change
If I’m not mistaken B.A.S.S. said that viewership was actually up some. Not sure if they meant tv or online. Also not sure if it was Elites only, Opens only or cumulative.

Excellent Writing About Fishing?

Heck yes Ken!!! I’ve got a copy of the book. Wasn’t the easiest book to read, but I sure enjoyed it. One of my favorite quotes too, see below

Excellent Writing About Fishing?
Me to! Even in life, to me it’s more about the journey than the destination. I enjoy learning techniques, lures and whatever else from articles but I need more than meat and potatoes. Since reading Thoreau decades ago, the quote “Many men fish all of their lives without knowing it’s not the fish they are after.” means more and more to me. Like @Lottabass mentioned, I enjoy your writings a great deal.

2026 B.A.S.S FFS Rule Change
I believe that the FFS transducer have to be removed. I guess transducer is the correct word. I’m no FFS fan, but I’m good with the ruling. That’s a fair way to do it. I was a little surprised by them not being allowed to use it in practice. Somewhere in the distance I can hear Blauket recording his new anti FFS/ anti B.A.S.S. video.

B.A.S.S. 2026 FFS decision?
I saw a YouTube video a little bit ago. No FFS for five tournaments, including practice. They can use it in four tournaments. Freely admit that I may have the numbers backwards. Still to be determined which tournaments will or will not have FFS. Not that it affects me one way or the other, but I’m good with that ruling. I’m no FFS fan, but that’s fair.

Thoughts on a 2019 Nissan Sentra towing a 12 foot aluminum boat.
Your Sentra will pull that boat just fine. The pulling is rarely the problem, it’s the stopping. With that light of a rig, stopping shouldn’t be a problem either.

New customs fees
100%! It’s funny how prices rarely go back down.

Walkers Cay
RIP Flip, thanks for the memories. I remember the show well, always enjoyed it. Although I’m not a salt water guy, his show made me want to go the Walkers Cay.

B.A.S.S. 2026 FFS decision?
From what I’ve seen, “Slick” is wrong about as much or more than he’s right. I gave up on him.

B.A.S.S. 2026 FFS decision?
I remember hearing that B.A.S.S. was going to poll all of the Elite Series angler’s concerning the 2026 FFS rules. Did they ever come to a decision? If they did I must have missed it.

Internet/wifi help please
100% correct, while Windstream has the only DSL internet service out here (again a whopping 3Mbps at best), somehow Swift got the fiber contract. Out where one of my granddaughters lives, the rural power company got the fiber contract.

Thank you for the link. The article was quite informative and answered some of my concerns.

Internet/wifi help please
Does anyone have experience or knowledge about Starlink? If so, I have a couple of questions. Please shoot me a PM. Our new place is out in the country. We currently have Windstream as a provider (only company that services our area) and our modem speed is supposed to be a whooping 3 Mbps, most of the time it’s 2 Mbps or lower. At a bare minimum our TV uses 3 Mbps to operate so most of the time it’s just buffering. Plus we are at the end of the trunk, whatever that means. Swift has ran the conduit for fiber out on the main road, but that’s it. Just empty conduit. Right now Starlink has dropped its equipment prices from around $350.00, down to $175.00. The monthly cost for the first year, down from $80.00, but I’m not recalling the lower price. I’m very interested but I’ve got a couple of questions before I pull the trigger so to speak. I would really appreciate the feedback.

Mowing: How it started & how it's going...
I couldn’t tell you, I pay a lawn guy. Last mower I bought was at Lowe’s, one of their Kobalt battery powered mowers. We had a 1/4 acre lot. I left it with the house when my ex and I divorced. I can appreciate a nice lawn and ours looks great, no credit to me. I hate mowing and yard work in general. New house is on three acres.

AI and Bass Fishing
I doubt seriously that I will ever knowingly consult with AI. Not to sound like Randy Blauket, but I purposely keep my life, along with my fishing fairly simple. I don’t chase the latest and greatest anything. All of that said AI and the stuff it can do are amazing, just not for me. Like Henry David Thoreau said, “simplify, simplify, simplify.”

Japan Tariffs
Good question. I started with a couple of Zebco 33’s and some sort of Zebco rods. Moved up from there. Both of my boys started with 33’s.

Japan Tariffs
Tariffs or not, if I want something and have the cash to pay outright (I don’t believe in credit) I’ll buy it. If not, I’ll save until I have the money then buy it.

If you could have one reel.
Good to know, thank you Ken. I knew the Platinum spinning reel is made by Diawa, didn’t know that about the baitcasters.

Your job here may be done….
RIP Hank. I hate what you and your family are going through. As a dog (and cat) guy myself, been there so many times myself. He’ll be waiting on y’all.
