  1. Wow, looks like paradise to me! Welcome to Bass Resource.
  2. Palomar is the only knot I tie for a few reasons. After my accident I have some issues with memory so I simply cant remember how to tie other knots. My left hand has very limited use so its really hard for me to even tie a Palomar. It sometimes takes me 10-20 minutes to tie one, and on a moving kayak is twice as worse. I take 5 rigged combos with me and if I break off I usually won't even try to re-tie. I have to use pliers to hold lure/hook with left hand and try to tie with my right hand. Its really frustrating but I mange to get it done. As long as Im fishing though all is well!
  3. I managed to sneak the kayak out for a few hours this morning. The carp were still everywhere doing their thing and messing up my fishing. I did catch this dink and a panfish, missed another one that threw the worm close to the yak. I had a great time as always and found a healthy water snake enjoying his day as well.

Ive got, and use, several different Mepps.
  5. I was able to take the kayak out for a few hours this morning. The bite was tough, there was several large carp in the area grouped up like they were about to spawn.I managed the one pictured and a even smaller 11"er, both on a wacky rigged worm. I missed 3 and seen a few large ones that wasn't interested in anything I was tossing. Even though Im done with all the therapy after my injury I think being outside, especially on my kayak, is the best therapy of all. Im happy to still be alive! Nature will show you her beauty if you let her, like these honeysuckles growing out over the water. I spent 20 minutes watching two families of geese with 9 babies between them, the parents were teaching the babies how to forage for food dunking underwater. It was a great day!
  6. Sorry to hear this, they truly are part of the family and I honestly like pets more than people.

  9. No cottonmouths in the area I live in, just copperheads and rattlers to look out for.
  10. @Koz Im pretty sure the camera has to be on. Ive only used it while it was already on anyways. Im using an external battery pack and a 3br waterproof case on the gopro.
  11. The newer go pros have voice control,I think they started that with the Hero 6. I have an old Hero 3+ black that can be controlled by the gopro quick app or a gopro branded remote.

  13. I don't mind it and have always stayed on top of it. Plus no way Im paying someone else $40-50 a week to mow it.
  14. Very Nice!
  15. Welcome to Bass Resource!
  16. I guess 1 positive about me having a brain injury and stroke last May is I forgot a lot of my past so I honestly don't have a clue what Ive spent all in. I do know is pretty modest compared to most. Jeep upgrades is another rabbit hole for me as well!

  18. The through-hull wiring kits made by Hobie,Yakattack and Wilderness systems are pretty nice and should also work.
  19. @A-Jay Id be happy with of them, wow!
  20. I don't suffer from depression but do have some PTSD and anger issues from a traumatic brain injury almost a year ago that caused a stroke. The meds they put me on didn't help me so I quit taking them. Thus far the best thing that has helped is going to the gym and continuing to kayak fish as much as I can. To me there is just something therapeutic about being in nature and leaving all the stresses of life behind. I highly suggest you look into Heroes on the Water, what they do for Veterans is great. It looks like you are from Tulsa, a quick search shows a Northeastern Oklahoma chapter. They have a FB page if you want to look into it. Thank you for your service! I truly hope you are better soon and find hapiness in life.
  21. I havent had either but I think I would go Old Town out of those two, welcome to Bass Resource!
  22. @NoShoes You have the right idea of buying your second kayak first, Im on my third! I think a pedal-driven kayak is the way to go to free up your arms to cast more. You can always get one of the paddle kayaks that also has the option of adding a pedal drive later on like the Recon, Wilderness Radar and Nucanoe Frontier. I don't think you can go wrong with Old Town, Native, Hobie or even a Bonafide P127. I currently have a Native Slayer Propel 10 and it has been great for the 3 years Ive had it.
  23. I ordered my wife a pair of ear rings last as part of her x-mas presents that was less than $100 and was sent a Diamond engagement ring worth close to $2k instead. I contacted the company and was emailed a return label to print. I had to re order the ear rings then wait until the ring was processed through their returns before getting a refund. I didn't get an apology or a thanks for being honest either.
  24. Helix 5 mounted to the rail on a Ram 1.5". Have it sitting fairly close to me but a larger unit would always be nice as my vision changed after my head injury last year.
  25. @Darth-Baiter I enjoy Greg Blanchards videos from there, some big fish out there for sure.
