  1. @RipHair That's pretty much what I do. It seems like they are always having sales discounts on stuff that I like and use.
  2. Larry Potterfield will thank you for the business.
  3. You kind of had to know the Bait Monkey was involved.
  4. Some day, those features will come standard like automatic transmission, AC, and bluetooth connection.
  5. My jigs are like my women. We only part ways when they get snagged at the bottom of the lake.
  6. I have several Whopper Ploppers and several Choppos. The Choppos start instantly so you can do a start/stop retrieve more easily. Also, the white ghost color leads the plopper league for catches in my tackle box.
  7. If you want to get all of your line rating in your knot, you could tie a bimini twist, but I find it too much trouble since I only set my drags to about a third of my line rating which is not more than 5-6 pounds max unless I am punching or breaking off. I also use a leader a lot and the knot eats up a lot of line. Also, when you have to break off, it often happens in the main line and not the knot. Using a leader so frequently, I like to control my breakoffs at the lure. Even if I didn't use leaders, I am self conscious about leaving excess fishing line in the water.
  8. Well they aren’t poor exactly. Those people own islands or parts of islands on the delta. The docks are just older and more run down. You did read the part where I said I was conflicted, right?
  9. Either is fine, but not both. It could increase fowling.
  10. You made me curious enough to look, and I ran into this the Lew's Custom Speed Shop Speed Dial. I don't know if I would pay $22 for it, but that is a neat little gadget.
  11. It might be a Lews LFS after the 4th of July sales. If it is, it will be replacing a Lews Tournament MB which I will repurpose for bladed jigs.
  12. This is the moral conflict that I have when I fish docks. It's much harder to do the right thing when nobody is watching. If I am a moral and polite person, should I require someone to be present and ask me to not fish there? Am I just one step removed from the Googan Squad, that step being government? I have not settled this issue in my own mind. In practice, I don't fish docks at one lake around me where there are high value properties, but I do fish them on the San Joaquin Delta where the docks tend to be run down or are run by marinas.
  13. Thanks for the enablement. #2 LFS is on its way. Hehehe.
  14. So you are saying it was one of the best decisions of your life?
  15. I went through the same thing and reached the same conclusion. Now I am contemplating a second one. It's like that window of time when Daiwa Fuegos could be found for $55. I ended up with 3 of those. We will see what happens.
  16. I have two heavys, a punch rod and one for small swimbaits (1-2 oz).
  17. I got into a wakebait trend over the last couple of years. I think I will dust off a few Whopper Ploppers and Choppos this summer and see for myself if the bite has died on them. I recall some epic days with a WP in monkey butt and others with a Choppo in pearl.
  18. A lower cost alternative to the Shower Blow is the Ima Little Stick. It is 135 mm so it is on the larger side, weighing 1oz. The first time I threw it, I thought it was too loud and made too much commotion, but got smashed over and over. Ima released a 110 size recently, but I cannot vouch for it because I still have not tried it.
  19. I am a fan of shower blows. I have a 105 and a couple of 77.7. Great colors, easy to work, accurate to cast, displaces a lot of water, and I love the sound. The 77.7 is particularly impressive because of the size and profile. While there are poppers that are as small that walk, the 77.7 is behaves exactly like a downsized version of a pencil style bait. 20. I would be annoyed. I am unsure what kind of restitution is available or appropriate, but you would think a store manager could offer you something.
  21. At the risk of sounding like a bad YouTuber, I plan on getting a Strike King Hybrid Hunter Shallow in the junior size just for fun. After that, it's going to be a "MANN'S 1-MINUS vs THE HYBRID HUNTER in a LAST LURE STANDING SHOWDOWN!" In less colorful words, ultra shallow crankbaits.
  22. It broke. Starboard bunk towards the bow is bent downward at a noticeable angle.
  23. You names your boat "Bass Trek" as in Star Trek only with bass? I like it. I was going to name my boat the "Lady Mormont" but season 8 was so bad, I could not bring myself to order the letters.
  24. I am about to replace my bunks after I noticed that one of them broke and was considering going the Ultimate Bunk Boards route. Anyone installed these? What model and size did you go with and are they working well for you?
