Stocks are up!
Regardless of your politics or vested interest, the best minds in the world are addressing the problem as best they can. There is no easy solution and some things will be tried which will not work. The fundamental problem may be the mortgage market, but the mix was made volatile with "leverage". The investment banks were "using" money 30:1 verses their actual investment. When things are rockin', the leverage results in HUGE returns. As the underlying assets went sour, liquidity evaporated and the cost of carry became unmanageable. The resulting collapse of confidence in the system then magnified the severity of the situation. Direct investment and guarantees of something in excess or 13 trillion dollars have been injected by the United States alone. It may take more. Banking and housing must stabilize to bring about recovery. Perhaps that sounds simple, but it isn't. The next "Big Event" may be credit cards. Unsecured debt without any means of support. The banks can only blame themselves. The worst part is how much we all hate their policies. Unless you pay your bills monthly, interest and penalties can exceed 28%. The banks get no sympathy from me.

How many of you are Right handed but use a Left hand retrieve Bait cast reel?
Here ya go: By George Welcome Let's get technical, as there are in fact reasons, not just some lame holdover from days past that put the handles where they are. What will move the fish during retrieval is placed to the strong hand! A baitcast is designed to be used as a winch, so it is the reel that retrieves the fish. Hence if you are right handed the handle is in your right hand. A spinning reel is designed to pick up unloaded or loose line, not retrieve the fish. Hence it is the rod that does the retrieval, so it is the rod that is in your strong hand. If you are right handed then the pole goes to the right hand. 8-)

Lake Erie VS Tennessee...Next WR Smallie
That's it. Lake Erie and a number of other lakes in the region are FAR SUPERIOR fisheries. For numbers and the potential for trophy smallmouth, there is no comparison. However, the next World Record is another story: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/smallmouth_record.html 8-)

Sportman's Warehouse
The company is not closing all stores, just selected stores and the two in Memphis were chosen. Our stores are in the process of liquidation, so these discounts will be greater as time goes on. The prices are not available throughout the chain. 8-)

Well now...

Sportman's Warehouse
Hit the local store Friday afternoon and it was PACKED! Our stores are being closed and the initial discounts are 10-30%. However that is after discounts if whatever you are buying was already on sale. So, I restricted my Bait Monkey to sale items only. I escaped with only a $183 of stuff I definitely do not need! Better discounts will be offered as the closing gets closer, but if you have something you "really need", don't wait too long. When it's gone, it's gone. No refunds, no exchanges...All sales are final. 8-)

Jigging spoons
The big 1.5 oz Lake Fork Tackle spoons have been getting most of the press. If you decide to pop for $9, better buy a few. If you care about the cost, consider replacing the rings and hooks with release and wire. The main issue is not rocks or even timber, you can recover most of your lures with a retriever. However, old trot lines are non-forgiving. Plan to lose a few. I bought these BPS spoons for $7.99 http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_98858____SearchResults 8-)
