Custom Spinnerbaits
WTB is fine. We don't allow solicitations "For Sale" by anyone other than sponsors if the seller is "in the business" personally or corporately. The Flea Market is provided as a convenience for members, but not as a means for "distribution". -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator

Must Have for 2009: 10" Anaconda
These came out last fall and were an immediate hit. I highly recommend the Anaconda: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_102852____SearchResults?ordProd=Y&CMID=BOTTOM_selectitems 8-)

Shimano calcutta question
I have no issues. You might find this interesting, too: The last time I had the two reels serviced by Reel Mech, I called to ask if he could tell which was the older reel. The first one was 5 years old and fished extensively on the Tennessee River, the other had hardly been fished at all. He told me he couldn't tell one from the other and that neither showed any kind of wear. 8-)

Shimano calcutta question
I have two CTE200GT. I consider this a perfect reel for a number of techniques: soft plastics, jigs and deep diving crankbaits. I also use these reels for striper fishing. Strong, smooth, silent and reliant. The CTE200GT is virtually indestructable. 8-)

The 25lb Bass
Let's not forget, they had drawn an audience. I'm not saying they would have done anything else, but the situation was a little different than sometimes described. 8-)

Am I being paranoid?
I live in a safe community immediately adjacent to a sewer. Our safe haven is a direct result of very aggressive law enforcement. We pay a high price, but our investment is well worth the cost. All crime, but especially homicides, in Memphis are among the highest per capita in the country. Germantown has had one as a result of an abduction in the last 15 years or so. Technically, that murder was outside our community. The key is silent approach, apprehension, prosecution and internment- no deals! Commit the crime and expect the time. We make it a point that everyone knows, Germantown is the wrong place to be for bad guys. >

casting reel
Oops! Sorry... My partner is a guide and carries "spincasting" reels for folks that don't fish very much and kids. These are great reals that he has been using for several years: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=null-cat400026_TGP&id=0013026116646a&navCount=0&podId=0013026&parentId=cat400026&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=IJ&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat601233&cmCat=netcon&cm_ven=netcon&cm_cat=MSN&cm_pla=spincasting%20reels&cm_ite=netcon&rid=0180101070502&hasJS=true 8-)

Help with VMC Shakey Heads
I'm sure they would work and I'm a BIG fan, but I fish both Paca Craws and Babies as jig trailers. I see no reason not to fish them on a shakey head, just haven't. 8-)

Am I being paranoid?
The only thing I would do different is call the cops! Our law enforcement (Germantown, TN) responds immediately to "talk" with suspicious characters, always. It's about looking out for your family and neighbors. 8-)

Jerkbaits
Jerkbaits are not my most productive lures, but they are my favorite! I like small X-Raps when the fish are very active. Otherwise, Lucky Craft Pointers 100 & 128 and the Rapala Husky Jerk (Chrome Blue/Orange). As a general rule, I fish jerkbaits when the other best choice might be topwater. Low light is best, but on a cloudy day, all day. Jerkbaits can be fished around cover, but I prefer deep structure. My ideal situation for smallmouth bass is a steeply sloped main lake point with deep water on either side. For largemouth, secondary points. Cadence is tricky and you will just have to experiment, but pay attention: once you find the right cadence, it will work for the entire outing. I usually start with a fast jerk-jerk- pause to see how aggressive the fish are. After a few casts, if that's not working, long jerk- long pause-long jerk-longer pause-long jerk and just leave it sit! Regardless of your pattern, the key to fishing a jerkbait is a complete pause on slack line. Lean forward into the bait so it doesn't move. Rapala calls the X-Rap a "slash bait" and I fish it differently: short jerks and no pause, like an injured bait trying to escape. p.s. Fish the size you are most comfortable with, usually that's the Pointer 100, Husky Jerk HJ10 and X-Rap XR08, but my biggest smallmouth have been caught on the Pointer 128. 8-)

A Remarkable Achievement: #1000
I don't care a thing about women's athletics or basketball, let alone the combination of the two. However, this is such a huge accomplishment, I applaud this lady: http://msn.foxsports.com/wcbk/story/9186724/Summitt-gets-milestone-1,000th-win&MSNHPHCP>1=39002 ** footnote ** The Lady Vols also boast 100% graduation of their student atheletes. 8-)

Custom vs. Lucky Craft, IMA, Megabass, etc.
It is just this particular lure. I have had the same color Xr50 and own several others. In the past I fished Rat-L-Traps like we all have , then LC LV-300 and Max-500, Yo-Zuri Rattlin' Vibe and others. They all seem to catch fish if it's the right lure/ right time/ right location, but addressing the question: This one particular lure seems to have more mojo than the others. 8-)
