  1. Depends on where you are and the time of year, but I would describe it as "stained". Visibility is generally 3-5'. 8-)
  2. Let's move on... This thread is closed. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  3. I saw it mentioned as the "winning bait" at the tournament event, but otherwise, no. 8-)
  4. Try the green. It probably matches your water better. 8-)
  5. Well, I hope that means a new handle, but if there's something else, please send me a PM! -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior
  6. Man, that's quite a fish! 8-)
  7. The 7:0 can be used as an all-around reel. 5:0 is generally considered technique specific: crankbaits in general, or more specifically, deep running crankbaits. 8-)
  8. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  9. I paid $3.32 for Shell regular in Corinth, MS yesterday. My wife filled-up with her Schnuck's discount for $2.82! 8-)
  10. ;D ;D ;D CONGRATULATIONS! ;D ;D ;D 8-)
  11. Shimano Stradic 2500FI matched to a G. Loomis IMX SJR783 or SJR843 would make a perfect combination! The St. Croix Legend Elite is being replaced and you might find the current models on sale and in your price range. I fish an ES70MF and would highly recommend this rod. 8-)
  12. You don't need special equipment for Mattlures Baby Bass or other swimbaits in that weight class. A medium heavy or heavy bass rod is just fine. As far as spinning vs. baitcasting equipment, use what you are comfortable with, it really doesn't make any difference. That said, I prefer baitcasting gear for "power fishing", spinning tackle for finesse. 8-)
  13. I have never had any problem with BPS customer service or exchanging any product. However, I still don't fish BPS branded products. 8-)
  14. There is actually good reason for the way fishing equipment is designed and it's not just "old school": (Note George Welcome's explanation) http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1187794805 8-)
  15. I'm fishing them slow, like a worm, not swimming the bait. 5/0 Gamakatsu Offset Round Bend Hook, 1/4 oz weight, T-rigged, unpegged and weedlless. 8-)
  16. ;D ;D ;D ;D CONGRATULATIONS! ;D ;D ;D ;D 8-)
  17. Yeah, all I remember is some crazy Italian from Brooklyn talkin' 'bout puttin' a Flooger reel on a St. Croix rod. Now, that just ain't right!
  18. With the ongoing conflict in Georgia, oil has surged the last several days. After briefly touching $111, September futures rose roughly $10. Todays's surprising turnaround has resulted in a decline of $6.50 to $114.68. The oil market will continue to be very volatile, with high "event risk", but should continue to trend down. There appears to be significant resistance at $110, but once through that level, a quick drop into the mid $80s is a possibity with a bottom around $65 per barrel. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12400801/wid/18298287/ 8-)
  19. And he's being nice. I think you would need two that size to get to 4 lbs. 8-)
  20. That's because many of the Triumphs were defective, at least initially. For many St. Croix fans, it was an embarassment. >
