  2. Sam....Let's not go there.... :

  4. I'm glad to hear from you. Too bad about the vehicle issue, but no fishin' for six weeks? Man, I'll bet you're Jonesin' for something pulling your line. I'm sure things will work out shortly, good luck! 8-)
  5. Tied after 18... 8-)
  6. Wow! Great story, great fish. 8-)
  7. Yes, I have been there when an exact shade of color or a specific accent is the difference between great and nothing. Still, I generally consider color the least important variable. 8-)
  8. MegaStrike is very popular as both an "attractant" and lubricant. The consistancy (Vasoline) makes this product very user friendly. I believe bass may hold a soft plastic a little longer. An application is similar to the slime coat on a baitfish and is formulated to appeal to bass. Another reason this product is recommended by many swimbait fans is its lubricating ability. By coating a lure with MegaStrike, it tends to slip through the mouth of this fish making hook-ups easier. 8-)
  9. Since childhood, Jack has always been the golfer Tiger strives to emulate. A pretty high standard don't you think? Time will tell, but his career is certainly on the right path and heading in that direction. BTW, Jack Nicholas is Tiger's biggest fan! 8-)
  10. Crappie never have a chance to "get smart", they just "get dead". 8-)
  11. You had a great night and did well. Someone else just did a little better. Sounds "all good" to me. If most of your tounament results are comparable, I'm sure you will win the majority of the time. Good luck!
  12. The "tone" of this discussion has been very professional. I hope Wayne P. allows Mattlures to post his trophy. I am very curious to hear/ see what makes a great skin mount and how that compares with today's replicas. David Hayes' World Record Smallmouth hasn't held up so well: http://www.southeasternoutdoors.com/outdoors/fishing/articles/smallmouth-world-record-controversy-hayes.html 8-)
  13. Oops! I meant to add Mustad to my list, too. GMAN uses the brand on his jigs... they are dyn-o-mite! 8-)
  14. Save money somewhere else, don't skimp on hooks! Besides Owner and Gamakatsu, the XPoint is another to consider. 8-)
  15. I wanted to highlight George's post again, especially for Teria. The hookset is not about power and strength. Practice "quick" and your problem will vanish! 8-)
  16. Congratulations! As your confidence grows, it gets harder and harder to fish other tackle. Jigs = big bass. 8-)
  17. Too cool! I like it, man. That's a do with a statement! 8-)
  18. Well said my friend, well said. If half the playing field had as much steriods in them as Tiger does, well then they'd be great too. I have never read anything suggesting Tiger Woods uses steroids. Where did you come up with that comment? >
  19. Welcome aboard! The best approach, as has already been pointed out, is to start in the BassResource.com Library ("Fishing Articles") at the tops of the page. Here is another piece that might help: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1180501296/10 Good luck! 8-)
  20. Yeah! Tiger in an 18 hole play-off...Nothin' to talk about... 8-)
  21. HE da MAN! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D 8-)
  22. Tiger hasn't played 18 holes since his surgery. #2 for another Grand Slam. 8-)
  23. Pay attention: Slow retrieve with an occasional twitch. The bait performs perfectly. I fish the Flappin' Hog as a trailer or on a Shak-E2, but that is a completely different presentation. 8-)
