  1. Welcome aboard! It's hard to fish big water from the shore. Maybe someone will have a suggestion. 8-)
  2. You want it "mixed". I would add the oil first. 8-)
  3. A lower gear ratio is generally preferred for deep cranking. 6.2:1 is fine for a greater variety of lures. 8-)
  4. Most of us that use live bait don't care. 8-)
  5. Welcome aboard! I have that rod matched up with a full-size Chronarch. If you can find deal, I would recommend the CH50MG. We had one on the "Flea Market" last month for around $200. 8-)
  6. That's when I have caught most of my biggest bass! The best time is between 10 o'clock AM and 3:00 PM. I fish structure in deep water or immediately adjacent to deeper water. 8-)
  7. Still the same. I don't think it's too important with "dark" colors, but you can't have white mixed with anything! 8-)
  8. No leader, but again: green for clear water, smoke for stained water. These blend better than "clear" which is white. 8-)

I don't really camp anymore, but I still have a nice tent and air mattress. I would agree, "camping" involves a tent, not a house on wheels. 8-)
  10. I think you will like the original foumula Hybrid just fine. I would recommend treating it with KVD Line & Lure Conditioner to reduce memory. If you fish mostly clear water, the green blends best; for stained water, I prefer the smoke color. 8-)
  11. On baitcasting gear I recommend Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #12 (.013" diameter, 19.5 lb test). 8-)
  12. Welcome aboard! I would suggest a 7' Medium Power/ Fast Action spinning rig. Specifically a St. Croix Avid AVS70MF matched with a Shimano Stradic 2500FI and Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 (.010" diameter, 11.9 lb test). 8-)
  13. 12lbs. That would be a nice smallmouth! 8-)
  14. Now that I fish for smallmouth in the fall and winter, I have given up hunting, too. 8-)
  15. I've got your back, buddy. Earlier in the thread I addressed that statement, but again: Ridiculous! 8-)
  16. In low light, the Zara Spook and LC Pointer rule! Later in the morning and throughout the day, tubes, Hula Grubs and Single Tail Grubs are great producers. 8-)
  17. You will really like your new rod. My dedicated soft plastics stick is the ES70MF. I also have an EC70MHF for a number of applications, but most specifically for heavy spinnerbaits and Mattlures Baby Bass. Happy hunting! 8-)
  18. What do these men have in common? John Elway, Michael Jordan, "The Great One", Brett Farve, Vince Lombardi, Jack Nicholaus, "The Iron Man", Roger Staubach, George Brett, "The Bus", Tiger Woods, Jim Thorpe, Pele, Sweetness, Lance Armstrong, Ozzi Smith, Muhammad Ali and my personal favorite, Jerry Rice. A combination of natural talent and work ethic, nothing more. 8-)
  19. Too cool! Great picture of your son and his fish. BTW, Welcome aboard! 8-)
  20. Rocco had the very best week of his career, ranked 158 coming into the competition with no Major wins and no wins of any kind for 6 years. Talk about "kickin' it up a notch!" On the other hand, with the exception of Saturday's round, Tiger brought his "B Game". He could hardly hit a fairway and scrambled out of the rough and sand for most of the Open. When he has his "A Game" going, like Saturday, no one in the game today can stand up to that kind of performance. 8-)
  21. Maintaining pressure is the key. 8-)
  22. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  23. This should help: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1189609782 8-)
