What kind of mono for my crankbait setup?
Always the same: For spinning tackle, #6 Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft (.010" diameter, 11.9 lb test).

sup bro thread gone?
Yep, and when a thread is deleted, we don't want a follow-up thread running on the topic.

My core review
The grading of a diamond consists of the four "Cs": Carat, Cut, Color, Clarity. Determining $100 worth of difference is very difficult. The criteria for a reel is different, but when choosing between high-end Shimanos, perhaps just as challenging. 8-)

How would you fish a St Croix Avid AC70MM?
The AC66MF is more "general" or "all-purpose". I use it for jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, topwater and some crankbaits. The AC70MM is softer (Moderate Action) and is best suited just for crankbaits. p.s. As David mentioned, greater casting distance. The AC70MM REALLY loads up and you will be surprized just how far you can cast a lure.

Beowulf IMAX 3D
Well, I was born in Kansas and my grandmother's name was Dorothy. When I was little we lived in Wichita and experienced three tornados at and near our house. Things were worse when we moved to Kansas City. Yes, you can see forever. Especially when you are pheasant hunting and find yourself a mile from your truck, walking uphill and against the bitterly cold wind across a wet, plowed wheat field! Many of the streets were originally paved with brick, though not "yellow brick". I still love Kansas and I'm sure the Wizzard of Oz would like it there, too!

BR Guntersville trip
We will probably have three group dinners, too. So the overall cost is being kept to a minimum and I hope many of you still sitting on the fence decide to join us at Guntersville. We had a ball last year and with twice the participation, it should be even more fun this time around. See ya there! -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior 8-)

SNOW SNOW SNOW~!
Last year the forecast called for snow during the week. All public schools were closed and "non-essential" personnel were asked to stay home. We missed the blizzard, but some of the counties just north of Memphis received almost an inch of snow! Man, did we get lucky or what? 8-)

Best value in jigs
It's a "closeout sale." They probably don't need "inventory reduction" for black & blue jigs.

Casting rod question...
Well, you REALLY need different rods for crankbaits vs. jigs. The AC66MF is a great "all around" rod for all treble hooks, spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. However, it has a soft tip and is not appropriate for soft plastics or jigs. For jigs and soft plastics you need a firm tip. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1196114229
