  1. First of all, to address "four seasons". In Tennessee the winter is very short and mild, snow is rare and in 23 years I have lived here we have only had a handful of days of single digit lows. Early spring flowers bloom in late February. Smallmouth are red hot from the middle of October through early June. Summer sucks in terms of heat and humidity, but for those that can master ledge fishing it's the best time of year for BIG largemouth. Fall comes in late September and the weather is generally great into December. Some of the best fishing of the year begins in October. Nashville is a "real" city and the home of Country Music. Tennessee has NO STATE INCOME TAX! The cost of living is about average, but SIGNIFICANTLY lower than the coasts and Florida. Within a 3 hour radius of the State Capital you have the Cumberland and Tennessee Rivers, Dale Hollow, Pickwick and Kentucky Lake. Two lakes are virtually in the Nashville metropolitan area. A bit further out are Wilson, Wheeler and Guntersville. Then there are literally hundreds of smaller lakes, rivers and streams. If you are a hunter the options are unlimited. https://www.bassmaster.com/news/case-david-hayes
  2. BEST DAY EVER was after an epic storm at Pickwick. We had 18" of rain and the lake rose 9' overnight. 78 bass in one day, mostly using a Sworming Hornet/ LFT Live Magic Shad. My partner slayed them on a Red Eye Shad.
  3. I use the "residual" from Tatsu spools.
  4. All around: Seaguar #6 InvizX for spinning tackle; #12 for baitcasting gear Technique specific: Seaguar AbrazX #12 or #15 for single hooks; Sunline Armilo #11 for treble hooks. Upgrade: Tatsu #6, #12 and #15 for single hooks
  5. Nice fish, great pic!
  6. Welcome aboard! Let me know when you can go. I have some local spots or we can run over to Pickwick for the day. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior
  7. I like a full spool with 2X casting distance and a little margin or +/- 90 yards. After that it's just backing.
  8. MegaStrike I am not convinced the goo "attracts" fish, but I think they hold on a little longer.
  9. MegaStrike is much more "user friendly".
  10. Fish can be finicky, but the rocks are always biting. Lures get snagged behind rocks and are easily dislodged by getting behind the rock in a boat. From the bank that's a horse of a different color. Just face it, you are going to loose a few fishing from shore.
  11. Hold my beer...Now watch this...
  12. Yo-Zuri Hybrid, P-Line CXX and Izorline
  13. Rage Structure Bug for me.
  14. 10 AM - 2 PM I would NEVER fish muddy water when there is an option.
  15. I don't save them. New day, new trailer...And ALWAYS cut off a few yards of line and retie.
  16. Spinning tackle: #6 Tatsu Baitcasting gear: #12 or #15 Tatsu
  17. 5 something for crankbaits, 6+ for single hooks.
  18. My pond trips are relatively short and I only fish one lure on a given day.
  19. Strong line even in the smaller test sizes.
  20. Texas Rig with a 3/0 EWG hook and 1/4 or 3/8 oz bullet weight.
