  1. The Trokar hooks are on sale frequently. I like both brand and Daiichi X-Point. I am also a big fan of the Gamakatsu Sugoi designed by Gary Yamamoto. The Yamamoto Sugoi Hook is custom-designed by Gary, made exclusively for GYBC by Gamakatsu. This hook incorporates an offset shank and a unique hook-point alignment that insures a straight line pull for guaranteed hooksets. Once penetrated, the unique bend makes throwing the hook nearly impossible. The ultimate hook for Tex-posing.
  2. You don't really need the very best line to have a very good line. Most of the discussion revolves around specific features the might be "preferred". Trilene XT, Big Game and XL are all very good lines and you can buy 1000 yards for around $18.
  3. Or perhaps a better choice, move to The South!
  4. InvizX for spinning (#6) AbrazX for baitcasting (#12) Red Label for leader

  6. Because they look cool! I like all my gear to either match or create an attractive contrast. It's for me, I don't think the fish care at all.
  7. On the Tennessee River birds often = striper.
  8. The knot is basically a "noose" and tightens down under pressure much like Chinese Finger Trap. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_finger_trap What I particularly like is that there are no pressure points except at the connection to the eye of the hook.
  9. My "baby girl" is 27 and now we have two granddaughters, 2 1/2 and 10 months old. I love my son and his wife VERY much, but the girls are "special".
  10. Duncan Knot, also known as a 16/20 and Pitzen Knot, for all treble hooks.

  16. Most common for me is a 1/4 oz bullet weight for most presentations. However, I don't see any advantage for using tungsten on your drop shot rig.
  17. I have been fishing the Tennessee River for nearly twenty years. The only lure I have ever used that has out-fished live bait is the Rage Tail Menace, T-rigged and weedless.
