  1. Woo-Hoo! I hope to see you there!
  2. I have never seen the Spook you describe. Can you post a pic?
  3. 5" Senko or Fat Ika, take your pick!
  4. C'mon... The NFL is a money machine, but that doesn't take a thing away from the Super Bowl. My teams have won three and there is just nothing like it for a fan. I was a Chiefs fan when Kansas City won their game, Super Bowl IV. I waited 28 years for my next win in Denver, Super Bowl XXXII.
  5. Too cool! I think you did a great job, just need a few more fish. Maybe this summer when it warms up a little we can invite Kate Upton to ride along. I think that would improve the video quite a lot.
  6. Well, my thoughts and recommendations are a little different. Set your drag properly at 25%-30% of the breaking strength of your line, but not more than 3-4 lbs. There are several ways to measure the weight. I suggest putting 3 pounds of weight in a plastic grocery bag and tying your line to the handles of the sack. GENTLY lift your rod tip until the drag begins to release. Tighten the drag accordingly. Now pull your line out with your hand. Over time you will get a pretty accurate feel for the setting. Once set, I NEVER adjust anything when I have a fish on...NEVER. I fish #4 & #6 Yo-Zuri on my spinning tackle. My two main spinning rods are 7' MF. The drag is always set at approximately 2 1/2 lbs. Both smallmouth in my avatar and the Big Bass on last year's RoadTrip were all caught using #4 Hybrid. On baitcasters I am fishing #12 Yo-Zuri Hybrid or 50 lb Sufix 832 for bass, 65 for striper. The drag on my bass rods is 3 lbs regardless of which line I am using, 4 lbs on my striper rig. I'm not going to use "never" because that came back to bite me a few years ago, so I "rarely" get broken off.
  7. Well, if you have to explain it to her, put in terms she understands oh so well... It's just llike the purse and shoes you NEED to go with that new outfit. I know you already have 200 pair(s), but you still NEED exactly the right accessories. Another tennis braclet with brighter diamonds would be nice, too!
  8. I had both a Curado 50E and 200E7 supertuned by DVT last year. Even though these are nearly brand new reels, the performance was enhanced. However, I think he put the ceramic bearings in dry and the noise drove me crazy! I have added a drop of oil which may have reduced optimal performance, but it's still great and now the reels are... Smooth, strong, silent and reliant.
  9. Just a reminder: You can direct someone to a dealer if you have no affiliation and/or exchange PMs and e-mail, but you CANNOT offer to buy or sell firearms or ammunition on the Forum. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  10. Talked with another friend last night. Besides some nice bag weights Saturday, they included two 8+ and 11+. Not a lot of bites from what I gather. As usual, ya gotta find the fish! This is another reason The Rig is so effective, covering a lot of water. Woo-Hoo!
  11. . HUGE issue. Always be rigged with a moving bait option.
  12. I'm sure he changes the hooks out, too.
  13. I have the Symetre 500FJ on an ultralight. I think it's killer on this particular rig.
  14. And the Posse continues to grow... Welcome aboard!
  15. You should kill every one of them. Maybe you will want to try eating them or giving them away to someone that will. Several of our guys say they are great tasting fish. I don't know myself, I have never seen one in person.
  16. No! Just kidding. We have always had room and could make more room. No one will be left behind.
  17. Yeah, but if Mike, Glenn and Keri had not shown up with a net, I GUARANTEE, that fish would have weighed 12 lbs!
  18. I'm going to have a seminar on "Fishing The Fat Ika" and you are invited!
  19. Woo-Hoo! The gauntlet has been thrown! I don't know whether Big O will reply or not, but if he does I'm sure it will be pleasant, he is a gentleman. On the other hand...You might have picked the wrong fight. He catches a big bass once-in-awhile, but only weighs potential lake records or a personal best. I think he held the record at Lake Fork for several years or maybe still does.
  20. I never miss a flu shot and never will. I had the bug in 1972 which just about did me and several friends in. We were on Spring Break at Vail. The first guy went down and we laughed. When I went down I really didn't care if I lived or died. I would never go through that again if I can prevent it.
  21. Well, the Model T got people from point A to point B, but I suspect most people like air conditioning, power steering, safety glass and a suspension system that's fairly standard today Old stuff is for collecting and display, not for fishing.
  22. If you C-rig the Rage Tail Eeliminator you will outfish the boater!
  23. I don't know really, I use light wire hooks on the outside, but I have never caught a fish on the outside baits. At any rate, switch to Gamakatsu Offset Worm Hooks, heavy gauge.
