  1. My best producer is the Rage Tail Single Tail Grub. My new absolute favorite is the Menace. Other suggestions include the GYCB Swimming Senko (back half), LFT Live Magic Shad and Keitech Swing Swim Impact Fat. A new entry in this category is the MegaStrike Fat Shad. http://www.megastrikefishingproducts.com/shop/fat-shad-soft-plastic/
  2. Megabass PopMax http://www.google.com/search?q=megabass+pop+max&hl=en&tbo=u&rlz=1R2ADFA_enUS468&tbm=isch&source=univ&sa=X&ei=WzIJUeqhBIbS2AXWyIH4CA&ved=0CDEQsAQ&biw=1280&bih=577
  3. The butt effects balance and comes into play when casting and leveraged retrieve, like when you have a fish on. However, since your hand(s) is always on or near the reel, there is no correlation with sensitivity. I have a few split grips and the main attribute is "bling". Split grips look modern and cool!
  4. Jigs work everywhere, but not all the time anywhere!
  5. How 'bout Smithwick Devil's Horse?
  6. Spring and fall. I have never caught a fish on the outside arms nor more than one fish at a time. The Rig is on fire around here. More importantly, HUGE fish are being caught, 11+ lbs in tournament weekend before last. In the same tournament, two 8+ also! My best smallmouth on The Rig is 6 1/2 lbs, but lot of 4s & 5s. I will be interested to hear how you do. Good luck!
  7. I don't mind you doing all the work as long as I get to fish there.
  8. The Swing Impact Fat is a big bass magnet.
  9. Well, I guess I never apreciated just how good some of our left coast guys are. Seems like we have a bunch of BassResource members in California that knock their socks off!
  10. Looks like a toss-up to me. I'm not on either bandwagon, so I guess I'll pick the Ravens.
  11. So, back to the game (the Eagles aren't playing). It seems like the quarterback trumphs everything else in the NFL today. Other than that position, what do you think is key to either team winning The Big One?
  12. What? How can this be? I have never heard of such a thing!
  13. That would be silly. Build one and see how you like it before committing to a bunch. I have a couple of custom builds which I like just fine, but not better than comparably priced G. Loomis or St. Croix. Although you may be able to find a custom build cheaper, I suspect that the better builders are going to price their rods beginning around $250. Alpster built one for me at "no cost" for all his labor. The blank and components were $175 wholesale.
  14. Spinnerbaits are my focus this year.
  15. Short, sweet and to the point. I like paddletail trailers, but I like a single tail grub, too!
  16. Welcome aboard! Consider joining us at Pickwick for the BassResource RoadTrip in May.
  17. Well, if it's just another rod to add to your collection, go for it! However, if it is "important" or a "one and only" I think you are better off with a brand that carries less baggage. Quality control has always been an issue.
  18. They are killin' 'em on Pickwick using jerkbaits, lipless crankbaits and The Rig. It took 26 lbs to win a recent tournament. I know of two 8s and an 11+ caught weekend before last during the flooding. Point is, ya got get out there if you expect to catch bass.
  19. Here are some topics on winter fishing from the BassResource Library, "Fishing Articles" at the top of the page. http://www.bassresource.com/seasonal-fishing-articles#winter
  20. Sounds perfect to me at the pricing point you have in mind.
  21. Okay... Let's try the best fluorocarbon I have ever fished: Tatsu If you use it as a leader it is not ridiculously expensive, but as a mainline it's pricey. Either way, you will love this line!
  22. Redear Sunfish Red Blue & Silver
  23. That first fish is BEE-U-TEE-FULL!
