How light can you go on a BC?
Well...That's not necessarily the case. :

What's the buzz on buzzbaits?
Advice on Cavitron maintenance: Your lure is going to get beat up, twisted and bent. Bend it back into shape and keep fishing. The worse it looks, the better it fishes! 8-)

How light can you go on a BC?
1/16 oz But that of course has a lot to do with the reel, the rod power and line test. Spinning tackle is much more appropriate for most guys fishing lures/ baits under 1/4 oz. I prefer spinning tackle for light line applications. Another important consideration is drag performance. Spinning tackle is so much more forgiving. When that 7lb smallmouth first sees your boat, she is not going to like it one bit! I attribute much of my personal success to very smooth and responsive drag systems. 8-)

super tuning?
Most reels, including brand new and high-end, will perform best with a thorough cleaning right out of the box. Regardless of the manufacturer, some reels are over greased, some under lubricated. I know a lot of our members break down their reels before they ever use them. 8-)

changed your fishing trips?
Well...rants don't work around here in general. Sometimes we let them run, but that would be in "Everything Else". So...Not deleted or moved...just ended. Goodnight Irene. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator

Fluoro Advice
I posted the results of my testing over the last year or so, last month. If cost is of little concern, Tatsu is the clear winner. I thought Seaguar InvizX was good on spinning gear; AbrazX on baitcasting tackle. I did not like Vanish, P-Line CX, 100%, P-line Floroclear and Triple Fish. I am going to continue fishing Yo-Zuri Hybrid and recommend you give it a try. 8-)

flying to orlando
Stick Marsh/ Farm 13 is about an hour and a half drive. One of my "Dream Trips" would be fishing there with George Welcome. 8-)

You're Invited to the 6th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
I'm busy... So, do we cook close outside and eat in the reserved room Monday night? Big O can have the first burger off the grill, but I'm hoping the talk(s) will be during dinner. Some of us require a full night of rest to maintain our pleasant personalities and youthful beauty.

Some questions regarding Dobyns rods and actions in general.
Action & Power: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1141187546 I only own one, so based on that, here's my two cents: The original Champion 683C is what I own: http://www.histackleboxshop.com/Dobyns-Champion-Casting-Rod-683C-p/dobyns-rod-champion-683c.htm If you like a split grip, this is your rod! The components and craftsmanship are outstanding. Sensitivity ranks right up there with G. Loomis IMX series. The rod balances perfectly with the CH 50MG or Core 50MG7. Power is a true MH with a firm tip. As noted in the description, this is a perfect rod for soft plastics, jigs and any other single hook lures. 8-)

6# line suggestions?
Great suggestions! Both P-Line and Yo-Zuri are inexpensive. Give them both a try and see what you think. 8-)

GLX ?
Yeah, keep that rig in Illinois, those Kentucky guys will make fun of your Symetre on a casting rod! Well, then again, maybe they wouldn't notice if you fish it upside down... I have the MBR842 matched with a Core 50MG7. One of those tricked out Floogers should be just fine. The rod, assuming it is similar to mine, is too soft for bottom fishing, but is great for "moving" baits. For example, grubs, Swimming Senko, Keitech Swing Impact Fat. 8-)

? about ika's
Try the standard Gamakatsu 4/0 Offset Worm Hook, not the heavy wire recommended for super lines. 8-)

MS American Shade for sure! Baby Bass, Ghost Tennessee Shad, Aurora Black (blue), Pearl Flake White and Table Rock Shad will get you started. 8-)
