Question on Pickwick Dam Smallmouth?
Big O and our soldiers caught 140 on the first day of last year's Roadtrip. Most of the smallmouth were 3-4lbs, but both soldiers had PBs over 5 1/2 lbs and Big O caught one that looked to be 7+, but wasn't weighed. Uncle Leo averaged 66 fish a day for 5 days and his partner (Grouchy) boated a 6 + brown fish. Fishing Rhino's best was 6 1/2 or so! My best day that week was ~75 , but they were mostly green fish, I think everyone caught a lot of smallmouth and most of them ranged 2 1/2 - 4lbs. 8-)

Pickwick March 19, 2011
I kinda hate "wasting" a beautiful day and great current on green fish, but the bite was on BIGTIME! We never really went for smallmouth and didn't catch any either. 8-)

Most of our fish, about 40 bass and a few drum, were caught on a Norman Fat Boy, Bomber Square A or Lucky Craft R.C. 2.5 & 3.5. The Rage Tail Baby Craw produced a few, too.

Preferred plastic for a carolina rig?
I know it's just opinions and suggestions, but pick up one bag of Eeliminators and give 'em a try. Trust me, there is no downside. 8-)

Round reels
(2) CTE200GT (1) CTE100GT supertuned One of my CTE200GT is nearly a decade old and has been used mostly for striper and five ton boulders! The reel has been serviced on a regular schedule, but no parts have ever been replaced. The reel is smoother today than the day it was bought. Still a dead solid 10! ;D ;D ;D

Looking to buy some rain gear
Cabela's has their Guide Wear on sale several times throughout the year. In this part of the country, uninsulated is the way to go. Layer on additional clothing as needed. <-------------- 8-)

Building a decent, inexpensive rod ???
Hmm... State your parameters, EXACTLY what you want and the maximum you are willing to pay. We will find a builder just for YOU! I'm pretty sure one of our members would like to build a rod for Fish Chris. 8-)
