  1. Both reels are very good values and will make your fishing experience much easier than starting with a lesser reel. Although brand preference is a personal choice, many of us feel Shimano offers great reels at every pricing point. 8-)
  2. I'm practicing tonight. 8-)
  3. I will sleep on the couch...You can have my bed...SERIOUSLY... Your cost is only your time. I hope you can make it. -Kent
  4. I think you should just spool up one or two reels and fish it for awhile. After a few outings you will know if it is right for you. Good luck! -Kent
  5. Your 3-12 is as pretty as a smallmouth can be. Plus, it looks HUGE in the pic! -Kent 8-)
  6. Man, great post! Most importantly, the highlighted area (around Panther Creek) is within an easy boat ride from the Lodge. There is another ramp even closer and a short drive from camp. Study your maps for similarities. Panther is so obvious, it gets fished hard by every tournament fisherman and weekend warrior. The lake is huge, there are unlimited options! 8-)
  7. What's the deal? You dug up a thread from 2004 and posted a response that has nothing to do with the question. The CI4 is a spinning reel. :
  8. Woo-Hoo! Nice pics, too! -Kent 8-)
  9. Sardis is most noted for some of the biggest crappie in the world! Bass fishing can be excellent, especially for numbers. However...Things are VERY slow right now. As the weather warms, the action will pick up. 8-)

  11. I own the AVS66MLF. That's what I recommend. -Kent 8-)
  12. Low 50's for the weekend, mid to high 50's next week. Expecting our first round of spring flowers next week! The fishing should improve dramatically as we move into March. ;D ;D ;D

    Woo-Hoo! CONGRATULATIONS!
  14. That is still the case. I saw New Angler's purchase and let him ask about the hook. It should have ended there, but rather than editing, lets just end it here. Goodnight Irene. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  15. Great day... CONGRATULATIONS! 8-)
  16. I have both, like both, but prefer the 50, too! On Steezy's advice, I matched my Core 50MG7 to a G. Loomis MBR842C...Sweet! My 100 is saddled to a PR844C which balances perfectly. The larger size is still light. Perhaps it's mostly a matter of how the reels feel in your hand. 8-)
  17. Well, it's not fish oil. Grease for gears; oil for bearings and everything else. 8-)
  18. Pointer 100, Baby Bass X-Rap (Glass Ghost XR08) 8-)
  19. Knowing you should have bought twelve, not the six-pack! :
  20. I suspect you will catch just as many fish without a hook. Other than people with some affiliation to the company, I have never heard anyone reporting that they have caught a bass on the snake. :
  21. St. Croix Avid AVS66MLF is perfect for crappie, white bass and stocker trout. I have mine paired with a Stella 1000FA and Yo-Zuri Hybrid #4. 8-)
  22. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  23. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  24. I marinate jig trailers in JJ's at home, storing the plastics in their original packages. JJ's works great, but it is messy. For all other soft plastics, it's MegaStrike for me. Effective, user friendly and it also acts as a lubrricant. -Kent 8-)
