  1. Welcome back! 8-)
  2. Welcome aboard!
  3. I hope you guys invite me up when the bite gets hot. Good to see you and hubby posting again! Let me know if you get down this way again. -Kent
  4. We have had "the section" for years. New builds are posted all the time. Here is a post from last Friday, 2/19: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1266637887 -Kent
  5. Here's mine: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_44423_999043014_650000000_999043012_100-22-2 Often on sale for $50. 8-)
  6. Although I don't think recreational fishermen owe any "special courtesy" to tournament fishermen, there are certainly exceptions. The Classic would be one of those. >
  7. As David said, we already have the section and it is usually very active. Right now there seems to be more posts involving lures, but that changes from day to day. 8-)
  8. CONGRATULATIONS!
  9. Ideally, I think you need two different rods. Single hooks = Fast Action Treble Hooks = Moderate Action However, a little compromise might be just fine: Avid AVC66MF has a soft tip and loads quickly. This is my main jerkbait rod, but could be used for everything except jigs and soft plastics. 8-)
  10. Depends on the brand, but most will be fine. I keep my "reserves" in their original packages. For everyday use, a smaller Plano with five sections for soft plastics and one divided vertically for hooks and weights. These baits are ready to go: Senko, Kut Tail, Tubes/Kreatures, Fat Ika and 7 1/2" Larew Salty Ringworms/ Roboworms. I keep all Rage Tail in their molded package. Rage Tail are worth a little extra money. Besides being effective and unique, every bait is delivered in perfect condition. 8-)
  11. You're kidding, right? Oops! There goes any credibility even if we overlook the screen name...Everyone has their favorite brand, but you're going to be called on silly statements. Anyone who actually owns G.Loomis knows that those comments are ridiculous. :
  12. Well, you have been around here awhile... You know I wouldn't be recommending any Abbadabbado...but that's still the "general" line-up. 8-)
  13. If you have a friend at any of the major retailers, ask what is returned the most. Repair, exchange or return. I don't think the numbers will surprise you. 8-)
  14. Maybe this will help: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1141187546 Specifically: Technique specific rods are for "enthusiasts". Almost all your fishing can be done with just one rod. Beyond that, you only "need" three rods: Spinning: 6 1/2' or 7', M or MH, Fast Action (soft plastics and light lures) Baitcasting: MH or H, Fast Action (jigs, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and all single hooks) Baitcasting: MH, Moderate Action (all treble hook lures)

  17. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  18. Spinning tackle: Yo-Zuri Hybrid or Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 Baitcasting gear: Hybrid #12 8-)
  19. Nice pics! Our water is a little warmer, but the fishing isn't! I fished from 7:30 to 4:00 on Saturday. One bite, one brown fish on a jig & pig about 8:30. The fish was long and wide, but not thick. Looked like 6+, but was too light, +/- 4 lbs, not weighed. My two partners caught one small green fish and a drum. Three bites between us the whole day. :-[
  20. The lure class that everyone fished at The Classic. Maybe you ought to stick with it for awhile. It's all about location and the mood of the fish. 8-)
  21. I don't think it matters, but for a better match: Clear water = green Stained water = purple smoke 8-)
  22. Spinning tackle: Yo-Zuri Hybrid or Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 Baitcasting gear: Hybrid #12 8-)
  23. The Rage Tail Rooster and Eeliminator are two I'm going to focus on this year. For tried and true: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1180909581 8-)
  24. Welcome aboard! 8-)
