What Gear Ratio Reel Do You Skip Docks With?
I worry more about the rod, line, and lure before I start thinking too much about gear ratio. With that said the 2 rods I use are a 7.5 and 8.3

Is there any "All Condition" or "Universal" lure?
Like @A-Jay said there really isn't one lure that will always work and catch fish. You are going to have to change it up depending on the conditions. With this said, I do feel like the plastic worm is the MOST universal lure. Welcome to the forum though!

Post a photo a day!
That line “un-spooler” is genius!

10 or 12 pound fluoro? Does it make a difference.
Not gonna see me doing it with $25 megabass jerkbaits

New NCAA Football Suggested Rules Changes
I hope the targeting rule gets changed, I feel that they should have made that change a while ago.

Braided line fade
I use 832 and I will use it for a season, then switch it around the next season (respool it backwards). It is less than $20 for a spool and you can find it on sale for $10 sometimes so it seems like one of the most economical options not to mention that it is the best braid I’ve tried IMO.

Carbonlite 2.0 for jigs, Texas rigs, chatterbaits, and spinnerbaits
I have the 6’8” M-XF casting except it is the Johnny Morris signature series (one model up I believe) and it is an amazing rod. I greatly prefer casting over spinning rods so I use it for things that a lot of people would use a spinning rod for like wacky rigs, Neko rigs, etc. but will fish slightly heavier stuff as well like small jigs and small Texas rigs. I will see though this year as I have upgraded my spinning rod so I might decide to use spinning more.

Why not to buy from Bass Pro Shops
I ordered a reel off eBay that was stolen from bass pro and bass pro tried making me take the loss even though it wasn’t my responsibility. After like 3 hours of hassle with them they finally let it go. Huge hassle, someone even said they would call me back and then left without calling back.

What happens to the dead fish?
My thoughts have always been that if a fish ends up not making it, you can still, to some extent, let nature do it’s thing. Depending on where I am fishing sometimes I feel that putting a fish that is surely going to die back in the water is still okay because something like a turtle or other fish will eat it. If it is a public area, however, I wouldn’t do it because I wouldn’t want to offend people. With this said, I only can recal ever killing one fish.

Kastking Stealth
I would recomend a lews speed spool lfs personally. It retails for $100 but they are at sale at Scheels by my house for $70 or $80 so they might be on sale other places. I think they came out with a “new” one so they might be clearing out the old ones??? I had a fishing buddy that used them and I can assure you it is an amazing reel. Fishes quite similar to my tournament pro lfs which retails for $200.

a matter of perspective
Dang, that took me a minute, I was picturing you flipping a jig through a waterway... I was like “how does that relate to digesting supper in any way?”? Anyways, I agree with you, they seem like trash fish to me. Hard for me to imagine creating a show around it. We are probably just spoiled to have the best kind of fish (bass) swimming in most ponds, lakes, and rivers here. ?

Show off your Stuff
Starting lineup for 2019. Right now they are hibernating till spring? I had like 8 baitcasters and 3 spinning for a while but I decided I would rather have fewer "nicer" combos. This encouraged me to sell my silver maxes, American heroes, etc. and buy these instead. Not much compared to some of you but saving for a car, boat, and college keeps me a little restricted. I've been working my butt off saving for a small boat so all those times walking out of the tackle shop empty handed better pay off eventually!

Pinewood Derby Cars
I remember doing mine, I also got 2nd... only to my brother if you only have three wheels touching there is less friction try to put the weight in the back so the weight is on the slope part longer put the block of wood in the oven to dry or out so you can put more weight in back Sand the nails (axles) and put graphite in them to reduce friction Curve the back of the car for arrow dynamics make sure it runs completely straight and adjust until it does

High End Swimbaits???
Are the $100+ swimbaits going to perform better and catch you more fish than the $20-30 ones? I really want to get into swimbaits and am trying to decide if it would be worth it to buy a couple “high end” ones or if the cheeped (spro, river2sea, etc) ones will work just as well. Another question, do you prefer glide baits or multi-jointed swimbaits more?

I’ll “guide” you around some of the ponds here anytime!??

Eating bass
Small bass aren’t always younger than the big bass. A big bass has a higher potential of having big offspring. This means if enough people kept the big fish then the average size of fish in a body of water will go down.

Eating bass
I personally don’t see a point, there are so many other fish that taste way better (or so I’ve heard, I’m not a fan of fish at all) that I really don’t see the point. If I were fishing to keep them I would probably begin crappie and trout fishing. But if other people want to eat their catch then it doesn’t really bother me unless it is a monster bass.

Unfortunate
I wouldn’t be too worried. The bass should be fine.

Kraftgate
Just got a notification from ESPN about it but didn't care enough to open it. Regretting my decision, maybe I'll try to find it but the ESPN app is kinda a mess in my opinion (or maybe its just user error?)

Developing a pattern!!
Impressive, I have managed to catch a muskrat in the foot. They look cute in the water but once you see them up close they sure aren't cute anymore. Taking the hooks out sure wasn't fun either. Just so everybody is clear: It was not on purpose I caught it below surface in murky water.

I don't trust weed guards
I don't know if anybody has said this because I just skimmed through real fast but heres my thoughts. Maybe you do loose a few fish due to the weed guard, but there are often times when you must have a weed guard to get into an area. Say you loose 1 in 5 fish due to what could be the weed guard but often those 4 fish you did catch are fish you might not have been able to catch any other way. I personally don't think with todays equipment you can blame the weed guard for much though.

Show off your trays!
No offense to everybody on here but I don’t think it is that big of a deal. I have a combination of all types. When I need new one I buy whatever.

Fantasy Fishing 2019 - Official Thread
This is my new one, I don't know why I kept Benton and Kennedy. They better not let me down this time.

The latest sale thread
I live really close to a scheels in Lincoln Nebraska, I used to be able to find really good deals but then they rebuilt it (huge) and it might as well be a bass pro shops with their prices.
