  1. Welcome back to fishing!
  2. Without trying to be ugly, if you read a couple posts up, you can see that I mentioned having my neighbor who is a electrician assist me with this project. I expected to get at least one smart comment on this post. Thank you to everyone else for yall's advice and tips. I've completed the wiring part, all that is left is to mount in the fish finder.
  3. Opened up the boat today with my neighbor who is an electrician and he was helping me out. The inline fuse has no power. Looked at the fuse box and it doesn’t look like that specific line is connected to it. I’ve been unable to locate where the line is connected to so far. is anyone aware of any electrical maps that I can obtain to see the layout? Thank you for everyone who has commented so far, yall have been fantastic help.
  4. I believe it is a 3 amp fuse. ok I follow, I’ll confirm where the wire runs. I believe it’s connected to the fuse block, but I’ll check.
  5. Ok I follow, it’s a 2014 tracker 175 team txw So something like this is all I should need?
  6. Its connected to the starting battery on the boat. i was just going to buy a fuse connector like pictured above and just crimp the wires to it and connect it to the fish finder. Is this still an effective way? thanks for your help
  7. Yes, I went through a few videos and was unable to find anything. Just found one though that made it look pretty easy, looks like I just have to crimp the wires together and it should be good to go. Thanks
  8. Can anyone point me in the right direction of conjoining the wires with a fuse connector, like a how to? Trying to find videos or instructional material but I am not finding anything helpful so far thank you
  9. Hello, Fixing to mount a fish finder on the bow of my Tracker 175 txw, just waiting for it to come in. May be a silly question, but for connecting the two preinstalled connectors, what is required to do so? If anyone can point me to a video or something instructional, I have not been able to find anything to assist or I may be overlooking it. Thanks
  10. Absolutely fish it. No sense in keeping it as a trophy. I prefer older reels myself, they bring the most fun imo.
  11. Got it, thanks guys. follow up, I have a tracker 175. There’s a cord already set up in the bow to connect to the fish finder. I assume this is connected to the boat battery, not the trolling motor battery? Thanks
  12. Another question, Any issue with the fish finder being plugged into the boat battery or should it be plugged into its own battery? My main concern here is that the transducer wire is going to be exposed to the water plenty and I am unsure if this is going to raise any electrical issues. Thanks for the replies so far yall. As it could be shown, I am new with this all.
  13. Hey guys, I am putting a Garmin striker 4 on the bow of my boat. Is there any issues with putting the transducer on the trolling motor and letting the wire hang, secured by zip ties? I've watched a bunch of videos and it seems to be a common way to attach it. My worry is possible damage from the water or such Thanks
  14. When I take my kayak out, I throw whatever fits in a backpack. I mainly fish soft plastics so usually just throw a ton of bags, and terminal tackle. My look on it is I don't have a ton of room on my kayak, so I am going to account for that and have the bare minimum with me. If I feel like what I have isn't working, I'll usually go back to the truck real quick and switch out tackle. Rod wise, I usually have 2, max 3.
  15. Upon buying the vessel, I had it taken to a boat shop and they conducted a inspection and everything checked out, only the horn is not functional. Slowly studying all the parts on the boat to become familiar. Thank you for the tips! In my state, a boating course is required to obtain your license. Although it was online, It was very informative with safety, maintenance and such. It did touch on making a float plan which I agree is smart and beneficial. Agreed, safety is paramount! Thanks A Jay for the advice.
  16. Hello everyone, I've recently bought a boat, first time boat owner. It's a 2014 Bass Tracker Pro Team 175 TXW. Super excited to take it on the water and am looking forward to all the fun that is to be had with it. I've never really been around boats, so I am diving into the world of boating and trying to prepare myself for the journey. Right now, I am trying to decide on what to use to clean the hull, underneath and sides(right now I am leaning towards a 50/50 Vinegar and water solution), as well as I guess a speed wax to apply (Leaning towards Lucas slick mist). Also what to use to clean the carpet, upholstery and the storage compartments. Any recommendations would be helpful. Also any tips or things to look into or research would be great. Thank you for any help that is given!
  17. First boat! Started off in a kayak, now I'm tackling something else. Super excited to take it out for the first time this next week. 2014 Bass Tracker Pro 175 Team TXW
  18. Went out fishing today at the pond across from my apartment complex. We've been getting a ton of rain down here and the fishing's been a little weird. Glad to get back out there for a hour and caught a couple. Good O'l worm fishing.
  19. I carry a glock 45 now for my service weapon. Have not had any issues with it, and I prefer it to my glock 17 that I carried.
  20. Honestly I really enjoyed the Shimano Casitas, a great little reel. The E series is definitely legendary, love the Curado 50E
