    Hello and welcome.
  2. You might try taking the line out and reeling it back in under pressure with it held between your thumb and finger. I stopped line twist by using a barrel swivel and a leader on my spinning rods.
  3. I have never known of a sinking wee r Rebel bait. I have used several and the have all been floating divers. I believe yours has to have a small crack in it. If it does the this bait could break when hooking a good fish. I had this happen to me once with a crank bait of another brand.
  4. Recently saw an FLW touring pro do a demo on these at a boat show last month. He says you only need two colors. Green pumpkin and black and blue.
  5. You need to make sure the bearings and seals on the trailer are greased and in good shape. I would also check the tires and make sure you have a spare. Also check the lights and wiring on the trailer to make sure they are okay. Without knowing what type of boat and motor you are looking at I can't help much more.
  6. The only one I have tried is the Sworming Hornet. I have had the most luck with the smokin shad color and same color with a swimming fluke on it.
  7. I try to be a frugal fisherman. I already have too much stuff. Too many colors of soft plastics. I save money by knowing if it has the name G Loomis or Megabass I will not be buying them as they are well out of my price range.
  8. Welcome to the forums.
  9. I am thinking about going to Cabelas to get a Daiwa Fuego spinning reel. This is the older aluminum model. I will probably match it up with a 6 ft. 6 in. fish eagle rod. Can anyone tell me anything about the reel or the Rod. Any information about them good or bad is appreciated.
  10. What is wrong with the older model Diawa Fuego reel? I was thinking about getting one to try since is aluminum instead of graphite. I appreciate any info you can give me.
  11. I very rarely travel more than 60 miles. I have 4 lakes in that distance plus some places anywhere from 15 to 35 miles away to fish. my closest spot is Elkhorn creek and from the house I can be on the water in about 30 minutes. I'm jealous of Pro Log catcher living on Lake Norman. I got to fish there about 15 years ago. I may get to come back down there this year.

I hope my wife doesn't see this. I am 66 and have never had one. I thought about asking my doc if Roto Rooter was a viable option. My wife has already had 2 of them.
  13. If you do buy the boat you will need to to check the wheel bearings on the trailer to make sure they are greased and in good condition. I forgot to add to check the lights and wiring on the trailer.
  14. I used to use Abu Garcia reels. I had 2 of the revo s generation 3 series. They both developed the same problem some one else wrote about a while back. You push down the thumb bar and make a cast. When you turn the handle to start your retrieve nothing happens. I sent one back to them and they said it was put together wrong. It worked for about a month and did the same thing. I got rid of both of them. I don't think the quality is there they once had. I will never buy another Abu Garcia.
  15. Hello and welcome to Bass Resource.com.
  16. I have never tried Big Game mono. The fellow I mentioned used it . I don't remember if it was 12 or 15 pound he used but he spent as much time picking out birds nests as he did fishing.
  17. To answer A Jays question several years ago when red was all the rage I fished with a fellow that tried some red fishing line. He could not catch a fish until he got rid of it and back to clear line. I like the green line but I mostly use clear in mono and floro. I have never tried any braid.

  19. I like the trick worms and u tale worms. I agree with Will1248 about the Zoom centipedes. They have saved the day for me many times. They have bad days fishing into good days catching.
  20. I have to keep telling myself that soft plastics and jigs marked PB&J are not real food. I have to keep my wife away from anything marked bubble gum.
  21. I am wondering if the paint failure could have been caused by exposure to extreme heat? Was the tackle box left out in the sun too long possibly? I have a tackle box that came with a clear lid. When out fishing if I went to change lures anything under the lid was so hot you could not touch it. I ended up painting the lid to stop the extreme heat build up.
  22. After seeing part of his collection I have realized I really don't have a problem. I wonder how long ago he won the lottery.
  23. I am casting Zoom ultra vibe speed craws with an 1/8oz sinker on a 6ft. Bass Pro rod and a Lews tournament MB reel.
  24. Those are some really nice looking baits. If I ever tried to do that it would be so bad I would have to throw them away.
  25. I have a large 6 tray tackle box with crankbaits, topwaters, and jerkbaits in it. I also have a small spinnerbait box that fits inside the tackle box. I use the soft tackle bags from BPS for soft plastics and jigs.
