  1. I usually have six setups fishing from a boat. Four baitcaster and two spinning rods. I try to only have three on deck at a time. 1 for crankbaits. 1 for either a spinnerbait or a topwater. 1 for soft plastics. 1 for either a different soft plastic or a jig. 1 spinning rod with either a Senko or T rig Trick worm. 1 spinning rod with with smaller finesse soft plastic.

  8. Hope you get better soon. Being dehydrated is no fun. I have been through that and I was of work almost two weeks. The fish will be waiting for you.
  9. I carry a Case medium size Stockman with three blades. Have several others like that I have used over the years. Several are Buck knives and some Hen and Rooster. I have a Leatherman I keep in the boat but I very rarely use it.

  12. I will fish if it is a light sprinkle. Any more than that I'm not going. I haven't fished in the rain a lot but when I did I have never ever caught a fish while fishing in the rain.
  13. I always use a swivel. When I throw a Super Fluke it is on a spinning rod. It does help with line twist.

  15. I am pretty well covered on everything I need. I will buy line, hooks, and sinkers as needed. I have way too much in crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and soft plastics. I need to start getting rid of some of to get it to a manageable mess.
  16. I should have added in my other post that I always check my line for bad spots after each fishing trip. I cut out any bad spots and get them ready for the next trip. I usually change mine out at least once a season and sometimes twice.
  17. I change out my line when it gets low on the spool. So far I haven't had any problems doing it that way.
  18. Watermelon Red is a color a lot of people love but it has never worked for me. I have Zoom Finesse Worms in several colors but not Watermelon Red so I can't give you an honest review on how well they will work for you.
  19. I have a couple of MH/F spinning rods. I use them mostly for Senkos and Texas rigged trick Worms.
  20. Hello and welcome to the forum.
  21. I found the book on my old fish finder. It told me that one of the buttons controlled the lighting. I hooked it up and now it works again. After more research I found the one I was thinking about getting has to go on the trolling motor instead of the console. I may still replace it since it has some programs that don't work like they should. I am looking at a Hummin Bird Helix 5. Don't know much about how good they are so I will see what I can find out. My brain actually did work for a change. It doesn't happen very often but it does happen.
  22. Congratulations @Mike L. Good luck in keeping this bunch straight.
  23. @WRB my old unit is a Garmin ECHOmap 50DV. It is about 15 years old. The lighting in it would not work. The one I am looking to buy is $399.oo. I found it for that price at two places. @TnRiver46 the power cables are okay. I could faintly see the info come up when you turn it on but the lighting wouldn't work to light it up so you could see it like it is supposed to.
  24. I went fishing yesterday and my depth finder on the console would not work. I am looking at getting a Garmin ECHOMAP UHD2 53cv. All I need is one with a 5" screen. Does anyone know anything about this unit? Are there any other recommendations? I do like having the down imaging and GPS. I don't want anything with FFS on it. As a side note I caught two LMB on a Baby Brush Hog and my wife caught one on a U Tale worm.
  25. I just got started using small ringworms about a year ago. All I have is the Zoom Dead Ringer in the 4" size. Haven't caught a lot on them yet. I have been using the 8" Big Dead Ringer for quite a while and had real good luck with them.
