I did a quick search - highest price I found from US was $850

The fun part was modifying the jackplate. The pieces came rectangular without the angle cut off, but that would have blocked both the bilge drain and the livewell inlet/outlet. So - chop saw to the rescue, grind the burrs off, then stone polish the corners and flat to make it look good again.

I'll have to take a pic of Black Lake - last time I passed by it, there were probably a dozen cars and trucks parked out on the ice, right next to the pop-up shelters.

I always try to up it a gauge for safety sake. Wire run from my battery to my 45# Edge is 4'...MinnKota says I could use 10 gauge - but I'm running 8 gauge just to be sure.

I don't think it'll run fast enough to do that...besides, max speed on most lakes in the area is 40mph...

I'm not much into westerns, but 'The Magnificent Seven' is one I'll watch. The original - not the 2016 remake.

Item #1 for this year checked off. With a long-shaft motor on a short-shaft transom, wasn't moving as it should - so budget jackplate to raise the motor up the 5" it needs to put the anti-cavitation plate the proper distance below the keel.

Since I won't be watching this version of American Gladiators, I won't know if you get caught or not.

That 8.5:1 ratio won't change - that's the gearing. The 36IPT will drop by as much as 40% depending on how much line is out - thicker line will increase the curve of the drop...50yds of .025" line will drop the IPT more than 50yds of .018" line will.

Ya - they're looking at 2"-5" for us here - then highs in the mid to upper 20s following...pretty mild, but we really need the moisture, so I'm not complaining too much about the snow.

Ya - but we're getting the water we need - even with only half the month gone, Jan 2023 is already the 8th wettest on record.

For pike and other toothy critters I got a pair of dual pivot pliers...they're also great for gut-hooked fish.

Don't need the festival to go catch some...Leech is probably the lake most populated with them, so still a good place to go if you want to catch some.

I've been spending time on my other hobby - but thankfully I've only got two 'major' things to do this winter for fishing and one is half done.

I go out about every 6 months and delete the oldest 6 months from my storage - course that means all the pics I posted in the canoe upgrade thread are now gone...

Three - all my baitcasters are either Daiwa or Pflueger....and since Pflueger basically stopped making casting reels (President XT is all that's left)....

I dropped BASS Mag, and Bass Angler - I've got In Fisherman set to auto-renew.
