  1. I was bummed when John Woo's 2004 pilot 'The Robinsons' didn't take off...it's on YouTube in 5 parts...here's Part 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAT4tjjzOCk
  2. Parents gave out the Yule gifts early - so I've already started this year's buying spree. Don't have it in hand, but it's been ordered...snipped from the confirmation e-mail.
  3. Phelps Bay, Lake Minnetonka...taken from the F-9 this summer.
  4. Came out in 2019 - so ya, a few years.
  5. Exactly Unless you're independently wealthy - multi-millionaire level - you aren't gonna have the spare cash to be a pro without someone sponsoring you. Even KVD - the 'earningest' one out there - couldn't still be fishing pro after all this time without his sponsors.
  6. That's the main reason I went from the canoe to the F-9...while I could stand and cast from the canoe, now I have lots more storage space, more control and a real casting deck.
  7. Tonight, it's another bottle from a six-pack that was gifted to me.
  8. Of course - they're gonna make a killing on all the lures people have to replace.
  9. Casting into clear water or light weeds - 15# Tatsu Casting into moderate-to-heavier weeds - 40# 832 to 12#YZH Pitching into very-heavy cabbage - 50# 832 to 15#YZH Ya - I have 3 rigs I toss jigs with.
  10. @Jrob78 sounds like my selection - braid, FC, copoly and mono all have places in my arsenal.
  11. Is there room for it, or did you have to build an addition?
  12. (shrugs) I've been eating rare restaurant hamburgers for 50+ years...haven't had a problem yet. Course the wife accuses me of having a cast-iron stomach.
  13. Items 1 and 2 can be corrected with the addition of outriggers. I made and installed some on the canoe I had before I sold it and rigged up the F-9. Some PVC pipe and fittings, two pair of crab-trap floats and a couple flag pole holders.
  14. Keep an eye out for used ones. I got one for $143 including tax that had been a trade-in...and the warranty did transfer, so I've got 13+ years of warranty on it.
  15. On the other side of the coin - Omnia is moving into a facility that's about triple the size of their old place. They're expanding from being a bass-centric outlet into panfish, walleye and ESOX.
  16. Dobyns Fury 703SF - this is primarily my weightless plastics rod, but it can be used for a whole lot more.
  17. Triumph is a good budget rod. Key to not breaking a rod - 1) set the drag on your reel properly and 2) don't high-stick. People have landed 40# brown trout on UL gear with 4# test line....it's a matter of patience and perseverance.
  18. Step one - contact St. Croix...the Victory has a 15 year warranty, they'll either a) Want you to send the rod in for repair b) Offer to exchange the rod for a new one c) send you the proper tip-top.
  19. There's a max total you can upload - that's a grand total of ALL the pics you've uploaded. Once you hit that max, you're restricted from posting more until you delete some. Click on the down arrow next to your user-name, then click on 'My Attachments'. Go to the last page of your attachment list, check the boxes on the far right for pics you want to delete, then click on the 'Trash Barrel' in the bottom-center to delete them That'll clear space so you can upload more pics.
  20. And it's a wide range too - "The earliest ice-out date on Lake Minnetonka was March 11, 1878, and the latest happened on May 5, 2018"
  21. Well...get your line orders in now, boys and girls.
