Bass Fishing in 2040
Nope - the lure is a micro-drone that flies itself out to just above where the fish is then drops into the water. The motors keep running to drive it down to the proper depth, then it follows a random pre-programmed course to maximize the reaction strike....if it's not hit within a minute, it'll grab a different program.

Switched to braid, 20, 30 or 40?
Are we talking spinning gear here? If so - I'd go with 30#...that's the heaviest braid I put on spinning gear...also upgrade the braid. Power Pro Spectra is 4-carrier...4 strands woven together. A good 8 carrier braid would be more supple.

I wish I had a neighbor that kayak bass fished.
Na - the back corner is basically bare dirt... Same place I use to park the runabout.

good length for ultralight panfish rod? 5' or 6'? for lake
Ya - I've got a Lews Wally Marshal Signature 100 on my 7' Light and a Mitchell Avocet RZT-1000 on the 7'6" UL - both are 1000 size reels. Difference in weight is .08oz (11.08 for the UL vs 11.16 for the L) The UL rod is heavier by .10 (longer, so more rod), but the Avocet reel is lighter by .18

Features For a Pitching Reel
Fast retrieve rate - to get the fish out of the 'slop' as quickly as possible Aluminum frame - for strength and stability. My previous flip/pitch reel was a Fuego CT-XS 8.1:1 - 33.9" per turn My current flip/pitch reel is a CA-80 8.3:1 - 35.0" per turn

good length for ultralight panfish rod? 5' or 6'? for lake
Since you're fishing close to shore - the rods you got seem good enough. Can't imagine the 6' Celilo feeling 'clunky' - my 7' Celilo Light and the 7'6" Celilo Ultra-Light feel good to me...course I'm fishing from a boat mostly, but even shore fishing with them is good.

Why Bassheads have multiple rods & reels ~
Ya - I only put 3-4 rigs on the deck of the F-9...but that leaves 10 more in the rod locker if I need something different. Lucky - he usually mugs me....

Fishing has been going on a LONG time around here.
From NPR A second ancient canoe is found in Wisconsin — this time tracing back to 1000 B.C. September 24, 2022 • The dugout canoe discovered most recently in a lake is believed to be the earliest direct evidence of water transportation used by native tribes in the Great Lakes region.

I wish I had a neighbor that kayak bass fished.
I got a 'barter' system with my neighbor...he doesn't have the room to park his 2nd pickup, Explorer and utility trailer at his place...so in exchange for letting him park those in the back corner of my yard, he does my mowing and snow-blowing.

Depends on how fast you retrieve it. Any inline spinner is going to twist the line if you try to burn it in as the blade can't quite spin fast enough so the lure itself spins. Slower retrieves are the ticket. I never use swivels with inlines...just keep my retrieve rate slower.

I wish I had a neighbor that kayak bass fished.
Lets see 'D' across the street fishes occasionally - sold his 24' jet ski boat last year, bought an old 17' tri-hull that he's been working on in his garage...wife, two teenage daughters and 1 year old all go out, so he needs something that can cart them all. 'B' kitty-corner behind me has a 16' Lund utility (old version of the WC-16) that he takes out now and then with one or both of his sons. 'T' next to him has a Sea-Ray SPX-190 outboard that he fishes from now and then. Up the street, one guy has a Vexus 22 and just down from him is a guy with a Smoker Pro Angler...both those guys go out (or at least haul their boats around) 2-3 times a week.

No More License
That's where most of the most of the money the MN-DNR gets comes from. Also, when the legislature approved the sale of lottery here in MN, a percentage of the state's income from that is specifically designated to go to the DNR - so every one who buys a lottery ticket (drawing or scratch-off) is donating to the DNR.

Need a little help and thoughts on setting up new "finesse" A-rig...
Nope - same thing, just regional variance in the name (like the crayfish/crawfish/crawdad discussion we had).

Daiwa Tatula Type R sometimes cuts line in the middle of a cast.
Also, the remains of an uncleared backlash can cause this...a tangle deep enough in the spool that acts like the thumb-bar popped up.

What do you collect?
Welcome back to the dark side. I do models off and on - Sci-Fi more than anything else, but also warships and 'X-Planes'...have a SR-71, YF-12 and XB-70 in the 'to be built' stack. Best glue for modern models - Tamiya Extra Thin or Plastruct Bondene (the one I use).

No, PFD and no kill switch attached.
Minnetonka has a 40mph limit. I'm sure your family/friends might disagree with that - think of their pain and loss. That's why I wear mine 100% of the time I'm on the water...never know what can happen.

What type of line would you recommend for a medium heavy-MF casting rod used for throwing whopper ploppers, spinnerbaits and Chatterbaits with?
I don't fish rivers - so can't tell you...

What type of line would you recommend for a medium heavy-MF casting rod used for throwing whopper ploppers, spinnerbaits and Chatterbaits with?
Ya, especially since I tend to run them either alongside surface cover or over submerged cover...bass grabs it and hightails it back into the slop if you're not quick enough.
