Transom Mount Transducer on Kayak Arm
On the canoe, I ran the transducer for my Garmin Striker 7cv on a Scotty arm...seemed to be fine even under power (30# TM on the back) You just take the transom mount piece off and replace it with the arm...same bolt is used.

Love you
The number of people here who are friendly, helpful and just all around good people staggers my mind sometimes - based on other forums I've been on. So ya - in a general, platonic way - luv ya all too.

best lake map app, local forums and other online info?
The free version will just show contours and dock/ramp locations. Paid version has several overlays, including bottom hardness and satellite view.

Same here in Minnesota - and the weather looks great for it.

Fantasy Fishing 2022 - Official Thread
And I'm pretty much out of it for this tourney Hack-attack is my only pick going into tomorrow. The Feider-man missed the cut-off by 4 ounces.

From the window to the walls . . . . .
I'm sticking with my original supposition.

It's nice to have shopping options now.
I don't call them 'local' as they are chains - but between Scheels and Fleet Farm I can find just about everything I need right here in the Metro. If I'm really desperate - Omnia...order online, but it's 15 miles for me to pick up same-day. I even steer clear of BPS/Cabelas now.

Except it's currently broken - Glenn doesn't know when/if it'll be back up. But you can free-use the Navionics maps anyway at https://webapp.navionics.com/?lang=en#boating@4&key=ceelG~|x_P (I zoomed into Wisconsin here)

Older tackleboxes (80s-90s) seem better than the new ones? Anyone agree?
I've still got my two Plano 6300 (3 tray) boxes from the 70s - gave my 8600 (6 tray) to a member here.

Omnia has a free membership. Post your catches, what lures/rigs you used. Catch posts get you entry into that week's drawing for a $250 gift certificate. You pick your lakes and get updates from other members about what's working on that specific lake. https://www.omniafishing.com/?season_group=summer

how involved or simple is a fishing float tube?
Another option would be an inflatable fishing kayak...ya, they exist

best lake map app, local forums and other online info?
Ya - it does require the subscription. But given not only the waypoints, but the other features of the paid version, I subscribe every year. And on an 8" Tablet, I can run the maps next to/above my 7" Striker to give me 2 views full size.

best lake map app, local forums and other online info?
I just drop them on the Navionics map - you can explore with it on your computer once logged in, drop waypoints and even routes - then when you log in on your phone/tablet...there they are.

stake-out pole, drift sock, anchor and/or trolley for a canoe?
I installed an anchor trolley on my Sun Dolphin canoe - light, polypropylene hull...worked fine.

best lake map app, local forums and other online info?
I've only got a Striker on the boat - so no maps there. I use the Navionics App on my tablet. https://www.navionics.com/usa/apps/navionics-boating

It's nice to have shopping options now.
Only reason I placed an order with them back on Black Friday? Someone gave me a gift cert...otherwise I go elsewhere now.

Fast gear ratio early 2000
I remember my Abu Ambassaduer 500R (early low profile) being touted as 'high speed' when I bought it in the early 80s - 5.4:1
-
Abu Garcia Reel Oil
This much is true - I still use the Abu oil despite the fact that my BCs are Pflueger and Daiwa, and my spinners are Pflueger and Mitchell - don't have any Abu reels left in my active arsenal.
-
Abu Garcia Reel Oil
I've been using Abu oil for years - never had an issue with it.

From the window to the walls . . . . .
I think Andy's finally succumbed to my problem... "I don't have screws loose, I got parts missing..."
-
Line to use for topwater if there is pike
I'd say about half my pike catches have been on topwater - WPs, Spooks and even a buzzbait...so ya, I run heavier line to possibly mitigate the loss of lures to the toothy critters.
