This might be before your time - but years ago KQ had a yearly contest. They'd park a car on the ice, people would guess the day/time it fell through during spring melt and win a big prize. I know the early years they didn't drag it back out...it was over one of the deeper holes.

I actually thought about mounting them on the rub-rail - but with the bow-cap they'd be too far back for my taste...and mounting to the bow cap wasn't feasible due to the thickness of the cast aluminum. I like them where they are...looks kinda sleek and I don't have that 'dome' thing sticking up.

Okay - lets not start up this argument. I have faith in science - and considering that one of the vaccines is based on the tried-and-true Flu vaccine....

Healthy as the proverbial horse most times. The wife, on the other hand - she got it, we tried to be careful...but I still got it.

A couple others that I frequent are Fish USA and ALF Legacy has a used section where you can get really good equipment at a deep discount. Both of my Pflueger Patriarchs came from their used area.

Actually it's not that heavy - I calculated the total weight once everything is in and minus the outboard it comes to 653#. That's with 6 gallons fuel, 13 gallons in the livewell, all my gear, and me. Capacity rating is 865#

And we can put this to bed....just got a reply from the seller than someone who was coming to look at it today took it home. Back to the search. The Alumacraft F-9 is the father of the V-14 - 14'2" centerline length, 60" transom width, 64" beam I'm 6'1", 195lbs.

Ya, I know that for the most part, Andy Thing is - 15-25hp short shaft motors in my budget are like unicorns around here. Can't tell you how many inquiries I've made about motors and found out that they were long shafts.

I got a line on a 20hp Chrysler - thing is it's a 17" shaft and my F-9 wants a 15" shaft. Is that extra 2" too much, or will it work alright?

I'd LOVE to - but the F-9 isn't ready for the water yet.

$10 on Amazon - when you're on a budget, you do the best you can for as low as you can.

Timbers are the only venomous snake we have in Minnesota - and that's only in the SE 'Bluffs' area of the state. From what is written - they're the most 'docile' of the rattlers...wanting to 'run away' rather than stand their ground - unless cornered of course.

A lot heavier or a little heavier? Remember that any jig-head lure (swim jigs, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, etc) will weigh more than what's stated on the package. The stated weight is JUST for the head...you have to add the weight of the hook(s), plastic holder, skirts, blades, etc. to get it's 'true' weight.
