Money that you regret spending on tackle related items
We don't have any of those up here...probably why the rip-pause is ineffective for me.

Yep-yep - 90s are my go to and they always seem to produce...pike as well as bass. People pulse them? SMH

Thoughts on Line Conditioners?
When I'm spooling new line on the reel - I keep a rag dampened with the KVD and run the line through it as it goes on the reel. Night before every trip - a couple squirts on the spool.

Minn Kota not running with weird voltage drop
Can't stress this enough - the one I bought years ago when I was doing hobby electronics has saved my butt more times than I can remember.

Bear problem.
Just make sure it's something more substantial than this.

Dude! What is it with you and eye-bleed colors?

Joining the 'real' boat crowd
Slowly making progress - cockpit area is done. Vertical transition piece between this and the casting deck is being sealed, starboard casting deck is being sealed. The NOCO plug in will be mounted to the transition piece, that connects to the Genius 2 that's in the electrical compartment. I lucked out on the forward hinge for the gas-tank compartment lid - the two outside holes lined up perfectly with the two left-forward mounting holes for the kingpin base.

Thoughts on Line Conditioners?
Helps manage the line, makes it limper - especially FC lines You can take my KVD when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers - I won't use anything else.

bill dance bait caster
A paper-weight is useful? I bought one Quantum reel - after two outings didn't even return it, just tossed it.

bait caster
(snort) Quite a lot of the lower-end reels from a lot of brands are re-labeled Doyo - Abu, Pflueger, etc.
-
bait caster
They're probably both Doyo reels, made on the same line, just the colors and labels are different.

Daiwa Fuego CT on sale - the MagForce-Z braking is very nice despite being magnetic Or for just a little less Daiwa CA-80 (yes, it has an aluminum frame) - standard magnetic brakes, not the 'Z'. Both can be found for $80 or less if you're patient and look around - I got my CA-80 for $60 during a Fleet Farm special.

It Was Unavoidable I Guess
Been 10 days for me since I came down with it, but it got no worse than a bad cold, and now I got the 'creeping crud' - but that's been it. Hope things start getting better for you soon, man.

Confused fishing etiquette
I think you handled it the best you could - maybe a 'light' warning about etiquette wouldn't have been out of place - but he seemed nice. Senkos - no...too deep a hole in my shallow pockets - a few Stik-Os maybe...

Anybody Ever Get Caught Without Their License?
Same here - I can't remember the last time I was checked...but I always buy one. Fees go to the DNR for water management, ramp maintenance, and lots of other things...given that all the public ramps are free to use - it's well worth it to not have that additional 'ding' when I want to go fishing.

Too much time on his hands
One guy took the singing 'Billy Bass' and brought it into the 21st Century.

Is it just me?
I didn't want to be Petty either - I was more a Don "Big Daddy" Garlits type. I try to actually do the speed limit - if it says 60, I'm within 1-2mph of that. But ya - cars passing me all the time...some of them honking at me. Best part...couple miles down the road, they've been pulled over by the highway patrol, and I just keep truckin' along.
