  1. We got a Great Blue Heron that hangs around one of my shore spots. We've named 'her' Heronetta...and she'll come over to our side when she sees people catching fish. We'll toss her one every now and then to watch her gobble it down.
  2. #1 - If it's truly a Lithium-Ion - get rid of it...those things are fire hazards waiting to blow. If it's a LiFePo4, then you're safe. No, they're not the same. Far as charging....you can run the charge through the breaker so long as the charger current is less than the breaker's trip limit. Just make sure the charger is rated for Lithium batteries.
  3. Funnest to toss? Spinnerbait, especially when I'm burning it just under the surface and you see the wake of a bass charging it from the side. Favorite? I know @gim is going to shake his head at me...but it's Drop-Shot. Every time I feel the 'tap-tap' of a fish checking it out my heart runs a little faster.
  4. Personally - I'd replace the guides. No telling how much of that rust/oxidation has penetrated to under the inserts or how weak the guide itself is.
  5. I've made my peace with the universe...waste of energy ranting about the unfairness of it. Some good news....Chemo shrunk that invader quite a bit...another month or so and I get another CT/PET scan to see what the radiation therapy did (just finished that this past Monday). They can kick the can down the road a bit, but Small-Cell (lung cancer) doesn't have a cure yet...only hope is that they can keep kicking that can.
  6. Terminal cancer, dude...I'm not gonna leave things like that for the wife to take care of once I'm gone.
  7. Best place to go is Will Prowse's site. He's mainly concerned with solar-power, but he tests then cuts open batteries to review their build quality https://www.youtube.com/@WillProwse
  8. Good - always had the item in hand within 3-4 business days of ordering....and it coming from Japan to Minnesota.
  9. My old canoe went on FB - couple scammers tried for 'post dated check' even when the ad specified "Cash or Zelle only" I'll be putting Bass Trek up there with the same qualifications....once I do a couple tweaks on it.
  10. Ya - compared to the machines I helped build at one place....casting reels are Erector sets compared to an internal-combustion engine.
  11. In my case - it's cause Pfleuger discontinued their upper-end casting reels. I still consider the Patriarch one of the best casting reels out there - but if I want any now-days I have to buy used.
  12. Just an FYI: that other dealer that's giving you half-off the tariff....every order I've placed with them came Fed-Ex.
  13. A 765-Flip will work for both techniques. That's what I have, and have used for several years now.
  14. Just like Katie in her canoe...she sneaks up on the little devils.
  15. Even from him/her/whatever I'd want to see the data and research method.
  16. This weeks deals at Fleet Farm include Sufix 832 for $14.99 a spool and Sufix Advance Mono for $10.99
  17. I'll double down on this one - I found the Tatula no more difficult to service than my Patriarchs or Supremes.
  18. I haven't been out grouse-hunting in about 20 years. Closest decent spot to me is half-way to Duluth...a wildlife management area. Sometimes I miss living up north...hunting spots all over the place up there.
  19. There's places on Evil-Bay that sell replicas of the original stickers....mine was fairly well torn up, so I replaced it.
  20. I think that's gonna take more work than my F-9 did....I'll be following this closely to see how you do. Before After
  21. Which is most probably a Starcraft - they made most of the aluminum Sea King boats and just slapped the MW label and name on them Just like the F&S Scout canoe sold primarily in F&S and DSG stores is actually a relabeled Sun Dolphin Scout SS.
  22. A classic is "The Compleat Angler By Izaak Walton"
  23. Totally agree. My Tatula-100s get more distance than my Patriarchs - which DO have tapered guides...this is using the same line, on the same rod, casting the same lure. T-Wing gives a distance advantage - no question.
  24. Yep - that's the little devil....following that you can tear down a motor and rebuild it.
