  1. ^ What Blue said. I.E.: There are those who say a calm, clear day in mid-summer near noon is one of the worst times to fish...the bass in my avatar pic disagrees with that.
  2. Major preference - dual system like my pair of Patriarchs Secondary preference - Daiwa's inductor system - I got two Fuegos with this That's not to say I can't cast well with an old-style mag-only. My jerkbait rig has a Supreme and I can set that to toss light jerks with minimal problems. Like Tom said above - brakes are an assistance, not a necessary....that's from having used an old Abu Ambassaduer round reel years ago that had a tension knob and that was it.
  3. Still moving along - the last of the FRP to block off compartments to the under-frame area are in. Basic templates for the casting deck and rear area are cut. Lines drawn on rear port/starboard templates for cutting the hatches once the main pieces are cut. That hole in the rear template is for the underside of the Kingpin base...there will be another one cut in the casting-deck for the forward seat.
  4. Popular isn't the word I'd use for it...on the nice weekends, Tonka is an accident waiting to happen...probably more than one. There's a reason Long Lake Rescue keeps a boat moored at the NW corner of Browns Bay and the Hennepin Sheriff's Department has an office right on Spring Park Bay with it's own docks.
  5. I do the same with the one Yo-Zuri 3DB I have.
  6. You mean the picks I made soon as Chick was over and dusted? Those picks?
  7. HP has been lowered on a number of hulls My F-9 was originally rated to 35hp - the V-14 is the same basic hull but is only rated to 25hp.
  8. Ditto the recommendation of Basswood - though White Pine is an alternative.
  9. If you plan on insuring the boat - they might disallow claims if you're running a motor with higher HP than what the plate says.
  10. Same here - in fact I have two of them with different size rings. One has rings for the 5"-7" stickbaits and the other has rings for the 3"-4".
  11. Mine is just a step down from that - Fuego CT on a Fury 705CB
  12. We've got a Roku on the main 50" in the LR and the 32" in the BR has built-in Roku. Quite a few decent channels on that - and we also subscribe to Disney (which gets you Star Wars) and Paramount (Star Trek - duh) Never used a FireStick - but we can also get our Amazon Prime through the Roku.
  13. A lot of that depends on the canoe. My old Scout SS (also sold as the F&S Scout) is rated to 765lbs - only 100lbs less than my Alumacraft F-9.
  14. Or the Rapala-Arashi Cover Pop.... Ya, there's only so much you can do with a popper, so there's bound to be many similarities...but the Lews prices are way out of wack compared to the other manufacturers.
  15. Ya - my $6.50 Rattlin Raps produce just fine...why would I pay 2.5x the price?
  16. Your side of the state line - back when I lived in MA...that's a white perch. Caught them all the time in Indian Lake, Worcester.
  17. I got the opposite 'problem' with Fed-Ex. Example - ordered a TM, was shipped Fed-Ex. Original delivery date was the 18th...it arrived on the 15th.
  18. I started with KVD - it works great on mono, FC and Hybrid...I see no need to try anything else.
  19. That's another one for the livewell - there's two meals there.
  20. Long as it's not abraded by rocks and such...a long time. I'm going into my 3rd season with 40# Sufix 832 on my moving baits rig, 2nd season with 10# Sufix 832 on my finesse rig.
  21. On my finesse rig I use 6# InvizX as leader with my 10# 832 - FG knot works great and InvizX is a quality line. From reviews, BasiX is a decent line despite the low price - I'd give it a try as a leader.
  22. I bought a Nitrous a couple years ago - tossed it in the trash after two trips...absolute junk.
  23. You can find deals up here too. This customized 15' semi-V, with an 18HP Evinrude, bow TM and lots of storage is going for $2900 Far as the makers - really, Honda, Tohatsu...it's all Japanese engineering.
