Harvesting Fish for Dinner
In MN there's a few different regs. Muskie, catfish, splake, brookies, brownies and rainbows must have head and tail intact for measurement Bullhead, sunnies and crappies - fillet-away without restrictions All other species - no more than 2 fillets per fish...extras will count as another fish...1" square piece of skin for ID purposes. Though Sauger without head and tail will be counted as Walleye

The latest sale thread
It has been pretty light. Even Scheels BF sale is scarce in fishing gear, and most of that is clothing or ice-fishing stuff.

How hard it is to run a medium sized tournament?
Don't forget to check with your state DNR/DFW/whatever - Minnesota requires a permit with associated fees paid to the state for tournaments. Plus, depending on the size of the lake, there's a limit to how many tournaments can be held in a year as well as the total number of days.

Annual TW "Where's my email/order/price?" thread
Tentative being the operative word. They won't ship any until ALL backordered items are in - I cancelled part of last years order because one item of three kept getting pushed out. So mid-March I told them to forget that item, they shipped the rest. Academy had the item in stock, got it in two days while TW was saying a month more wait on it.

Annual TW "Where's my email/order/price?" thread

anyone know of some good deals/ black Friday sales?
Some things on TW ARE on sale, but because of agreements with the vendor they can't advertise or even show the marked-down price. Put it in your cart, start the checkout with PayPal - before you commit, you should see the sale price...if you don't, then it definitely isn't on sale. You can back out of the PayPal payment and pay with normal credit/debit card once you've confirmed.

Jerkbait/crankbait do it all rod
I use a medium/fast (Fury 703C) for my jerks, squarebills and lipless. My 705CB is for regular crankbaits, Zara Spooks and Whopper Ploppers/Choppos. If you're set on the Fury - go with the Kaden 735CB over the Fury - $151 with TW's 20% off so just a titch over your limit...but worth it.

Question about casting rod length and action.
It's called BFS - Bait Finesse System - small reels, light power rods. Far as rods. Kokanee series has 8' Light and Medium Light - Moderate-Fast casting rods. https://www.lamiglas.com/collections/kokanee-trout-trolling-rods

Gods, I remember those when I took Fortran back in college...'floor sorts' were never fun.

Helix 5 w/ SI vs. Garmin Vivid 7sv for kayak
Yes you can - basically you're creating your own maps with contours. You can set waypoints, follow courses you've recorded - everything the Echomaps do...you just have to create/download community maps instead of having pre-loaded maps in the unit. From Garmin's site - this for the Striker 7sv - the 7cv has the same storage "QUICKDRAW CONTOURS Nobody knows the waters you fish better than you. With the STRIKER Vivid 7sv fishfinder, you can store up to 2 million acres of maps with 1’ contours."

Only those that have been uploaded to the Garmin Community, made by others using Quickdraw.

Thankful for the Wacky Rig
Nope - that's a weightless T-Rig. Zoom also has a Finesse Worm - shorter and slimmer than the Trick Worm...I use Finesse Worms for both wacky and drop-shot/split-shot
