One president spinning reel is super gearry feeling is this normal
Looking at them - the one on the right is more recent....looks almost exactly like my 2018...the one on the left is an older model. They change the paint job every few years.

One president spinning reel is super gearry feeling is this normal
That's worrisome - my 2018 President-25 was smooth as silk from the start and hasn't changed at all. Maybe have DVT look at them?

If they're 2019 or later models...ya...quality went downhill on the Presidents.

Supplies at Michaels
I avoid Hobby Lobby like the plague. Luckily, we have Hub Hobby here which has a large selection of paints, airbrushes and supplies.

Harvesting Fish for Dinner
I know one guy in the neighborhood who does it. Course he's got one of those 'souped-up' ice-houses. Generator, heater, 55qt cooler rigged as a live well.

How to seal the dividers in a plano box?
I wanted to permanently change a box...3701, almost twice the dividers - an extra between each slot. Tried super-glue - didn't stick Tried silicone - too flimsy...this box is my weight and bare-jig box Went the soldering iron route..up both edges and across the bottom with just the tip.

The latest sale thread
It's not that - it's that they were 'naughty', Glenn took objection to them marketing here without being 'cleared'. His site, he owns it, his rules.

Winter fishing zoom call series
Works for me.

Best A-Rig setup?
It's a little weird. Any 'solid' lure like cranks, jerks, etc are considered a single 'hook' for purposes of the law. It's when hooks are connected by wires/lines that the law prevents you from having more than one hook/treble. Up to last year, donkey rigs were legal...now they aren't.
-
Best A-Rig setup?
Be grateful...we're allowed 1 hook...so I just skip the A-Rig entirely.

Winter fishing zoom call series
Inquiring minds want to know.

deep cycle battery
I'd take it in and have it checked - if the battery is leaking, it needs replacing...you can still get the core-value for trade in.

sorting jerkbaits
Much like Andy does - but I sort by float vs suspend/sink instead of silent/noisy.

Transducer placement, battery questions...
If you're not doing a shoot-through-hull - then it should be mounted so that the top is a couple inches below the surface of the water and parallel to the water surface. This is a bad shot of my Striker 7cv transducer mounted on the canoe, but I made sure it was parallel to the main hull and the top 'plate' was even with the flat part. Had to make minor adjustment on the water the first time...just for angle...depth was about perfect.

Post a photo a day!
My old lab/aussie shepherd cross Sara would crawl into my lap when I was on the computer. Ever try to type with 65# of dog in your lap?

Best casting rod at the 150-180 price point?
I can vouch for that - both my Reflexions A rods seem much better than their price would indicate.

Transducer placement, battery questions...
I ran a 75AH SLA in the canoe with a 30# Endura C2; 30amp max draw - mixed use (full speed runs for 7-10 minutes at 3mph, tooting around at speed 1-2 in the target area for an hour or so) - it'd last me a 5 hour trip and still be above 50%...which for an SLA is about as low as you want to go. I'd say a minimum of 100AH - more if you can swing it as it's your primary power source.
-
Transducer placement, battery questions...
Go to a 30AH or parallel a pair of 15AH...that'll bump it up to 10.5hrs run time. A pair of those 20AH batteries would give you 14hrs.
-
Transducer placement, battery questions...
That's only gonna give you about 7 hours of time running the sonar before the battery cuts out to protect from too much drainage.

what casting reel to pair with this rod?
Fury 703C to me spells 'jerk/shakey' rod...and that means 10#-12# line At least that's what my FR-703C is mainly used for.
-
what casting reel to pair with this rod?
Some say yes, I'm happy with my two Fuegos...so I say no.
-
what casting reel to pair with this rod?
Diawa Fuego CT or Tatula CT - both solid reels. Other than the T-Wing system in the Tatula - the two are virtually identical...same frame, spool, brakes, main gears.

Transducer placement, battery questions...
So instead of fishing lakes, you're gonna fish puddles from now on, eh?

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Nope - yellow bass is a separate species...closer to white bass and striped bass than LMB or SMB. Ken the Aquatic Bio major.

Best AGM Batteries
They also make the West Marine brand...which I had one in the canoe.
