I just went and built one out of 1/2" Sandlewood

I'd get a Fury before a Colt. I'd even take an Aird-X over a Colt after 'shop testing' the Colts and having Aird-X rods. I have a Fury 702SF that's my general finesse rod...drop shots, shakey, etc...and I'm very pleased with it.

Did you already pay for it? If yes, then probably not. Standard is to charge what the current price is when ordered...if it goes on sale after the order, you don't get the sale price.

Dunno - I did a quick check and it didn't show the discount in the cart where-as everything else I had in there did. Might be at checkout - who knows.

Furys aren't included, the Sierras are only 15% off while TW has them at 20% off. If ALF has it's usual sale...they'll be 25% off...that's why I'm waiting a bit.

I'm actually waiting to see if ALF is gonna have their yearly Dobyn's sale...though I have it in my cart on TW just in case.

I haven't been there in years...might have to make an 'expedition' as it's the other side of the metro from me. One of my purchases is done - used Patriarch. Then I got a $200 budget for anything else...so I feel your pain.

Which one? SW Joe's Thorne Bros Capra's Omnia Scheels Fleet Farm (ya, they carry St Croix rods) So many to choose from.

Couple issues 1: I'm a lover of split-grips - Kaden only has solid grips 2: Budget - with the boat work I'm trying to keep my gear expenses to a minimum - $50+ difference between the Kaden and Fury price after discount is a big deal for that.

With the sales coming up...or in TW's case already started...I'm trying to decide between two rods Fury 765Flip - 7'6" MH/F Lews KVD GC9 - 7'6" XH/XF With discounts, they're gonna be about the same price - anyone recommend one over the other?

Nope - didn't like Red Label. I got a spool of 15# Tatsu as a gift from a generous member here and if I had the budget, I'd go all Tatsu. Price-vs-performance - I'm an InvizX guy for both spinning and casting. Far as Sufix Advance - I tried a spool of 10# Advance Mono...I think I'm going back to YZH.

I dunno about the others, but I've not noticed any reduction in abrasion resistance with KVD. I use it on mono, FC and my Yo-Zuri hybrid...it's da bomb.

It was just a sub-cutaneous infection that they cut out. Now it's a once-a-day bandage change and she's bed-bound for a bit. Nothing drastic or life-threatening.

Ran a couple errands on Friday and the bays I passed were still open and people out...dunno what it's like now, maybe a film as the wind has been pretty brisk and that'll keep things from freezing too soon.

I lean towards Seth's vids for one main reason. His 'home lake' is Minnetonka - which is my main fishing location - so I learn a lot about my fishing hole in addition to learning techniques specific to it. ?

Had a canoe - sold it to finance the boat rebuild. The 9" isn't much bigger than the 7" - 11.4"x6.5" vs 9.8"x5.5" - so unless you're really cramped, the 9" should fit without issue. If I'd had the money, I'd have gotten the 9" myself - the 7" is hard to see sometimes because of the distance between it and my eye.
