  1. Ya, they haven't 'mucked up' the Pres-XTs yet by removing the AR switch...just wait, they'll get to it. I think any President prior to 2019 is a good one...they made a 'minor' change for the 2019 model and it went downhill. My 2018 President-25 is still smooth as silk...
  2. Good excuses though...that time-zone thing is a killer for you guys across 'The Pond'. Hope to see you again sometime, John.
  3. Agreed - I don't buy the Greens, just the Blue or Black. My #4 drive is a 500gb Blue that I ported over from my previous system...so it's going on 12 years now. Still spins, stores, retrieves just fine.
  4. Western Digital - that's all I've ever used and in 30 years of having PCs, only one has ever failed. Back when I was in user support, we'd have Seagates drop left and right, the WDs just sat there, laughed at them...and kept on working.
  5. I dunno about the newer cases, but my B333 has never come close to overheating even with 4-rotary drives, a DVD-RW drive, a drive card (internal only has 4-ports) and a USB card (needed more USB-3 ports than the 2 supplied).
  6. Well, for $50 cheaper - drop to a Ryzen 5 chip and 500GB SSD https://www.microcenter.com/product/640130/powerspec-b248-desktop-computer
  7. I have your new computer here. https://www.microcenter.com/product/640266/powerspec-b733-desktop-computer I have a Power Spec that's been rock-solid the past 5 years...if I had to replace it, I'd go with Power Spec again.
  8. For the BCs that'd be true...if they still made them. Only one they have currently is the President XT - Supreme, Supreme XT, Patriarch and Patriarch XT are 'missing'...as well as the lower-classes. Also they're working on 'removing' the anti-reverse switch on the upper spinning reels.
  9. Let me guess - a 2020 model without the anti-reverse switch. They're going downhill - unfortunately. Ya, the Presidents have been having issues the past couple years...my President XT-30 is smooth and quiet though. As is my older (2017) President-25.
  10. The Supreme is a Magnesium frame - lighter than Aluminum, but not quite as strong...kind of the best compromise between 'plastic' and aluminum. I'll have to watch my Supreme for things like that...one of my better reels. The President could just be the Trip Plunger jamming....see circled item below...if not, then it's more serious.
  11. My best luck with swim jigs is with a Berkley Pit Boss as the trailer - match the color best you can.
  12. These are the ones I have - and since I hate screw locks set up on the shank of the hook...they're what I'll continue to use.
  13. I still got a lot of work to do on it for the conversion...but can we count my 1972 Alumacraft Lake Master?
  14. Somehow it messed up...should have been attributed to Crankfate. Fixed it
  15. You mean like this one I caught out my bathroom window a couple years back?
  16. So for a 160-170 day season here (Mid May to End of October), I'd be allowed 160-170 bass in my freezer? So glad that the limit here is 6 - that's total including what's in the freezer. If I want to keep more, I have to eat some.
  17. Dunno - the other 'scenery' was too distracting.
  18. Long as your vehicle doesn't do the same. Current launch points - within 10 minutes of my place...not enough time to think too much...plus we got crazy drivers around here who think they own the road. Once the Lake Master is up and running...maybe 20-30 minutes would be the furthest...lots of lakes and launch points around here
  19. I'll re-iterate a previous post in another thread. Owner ST-36 or ST-41 primary choice VMC-9650 when I have to do a lot in a short time - like the massive used jerk/crank package I got last year.
  20. If this is for the power cable...this is what you want https://www.ancorproducts.com/en/p/141410/Twisted-Pair-w-Shield-14-2-AWG-2-x
  21. My 'bottom contact' rig, which means T/C-Rigs, Jigs, etc is loaded with 15# Tatsu. Better abrasion resistance than braid, more sensitive than mono...ya, I've tried them both for those techniques...prefer FC.
  22. Originally it WAS suppose to be tonight - but that hurricane that hit the NE worried Dean that he'd have no power...so it was put off a couple days.
  23. Get the stats for the finders - you want to know the current draw...usually in AMPS Add them together and multiply that by the number of hours you expect to be out. If you get a flooded battery (sealed or not) - multiply by 2 If you get an AGM battery - multiply by 1.4 If you go Lithium - multiply by 1.1 That gives you number of Amp-Hours (AH) you want. From there, it's up to you - Duracell, Optima, Mighty Max...all are good batteries.
  24. I should have been more specific. Like AJ, I net just about everything - not sunnies, crappies or dinks - then use Rapala grips, in my left hand, before working to get the hook(s) out. So left hand pick up...yes...but with grips for anything over a pound (estimated) or toothy critters of any size...small pike have VERY sharp teeth.
  25. Past few years it's been difficult as I had a slim time limit. Next year, not only with the 'new' boat, but also having a PCA for the wife (cross your fingers that the State certifies her (the PCA, not the wife)), I'll have more time...so plan on hitting some lakes other than the three currently in my profile.
