Since when is Sufix 832 Made in Taiwan?
What A-Jay said. Originally part of Yao-I Fabric Co, LTD, the Sufix label was purchased in 2008 by Rapala/VMC . Part of the sales contract was that all the line would continue to be made in the same factory(s) that had produced it up to that point.

How's your heat wave?
Ya, we got a flash flood watch up until tomorrow morning with a warning up this eve.

Scale with hook vs lip grabber.
I think you mean 'appalling'....

Scale with hook vs lip grabber.
Please go to a clamp - it's not that hard to upgrade from a hook.

Does Braid have a shelf life???
Braid is pretty much time-tolerant - I'd have no issues purchasing that if it was in a #-Test I used.

Show your ride...
Sweet deal, Crow. Looks like it'll be a nice ride once you got it modded up to your standards.

Hi vis mono for bass and other stuff
It's neither here not there - some say bass are color sensitive, others say it makes no difference. Personally, I keep my Hi-Vis line to braid, and have a colorless leader from that to the lure...and that's on spinning gear with only two casting rigs having braid, but those are loaded with Lo-Vis Green.

Post a photo a day!
I've got a row of those as a border between my yard and next door. None have bloomed here yet, but they're getting close.

Daytime bright sky fishing
My avatar catch was middle of the day with barely a cloud in sight...spinnerbait in less than 5' of water running along the edge of a lilly-pad field...sucker came out from under the pads and creamed the spinner. They're out there, just have to find them.

Frustrating Day
Light shakey head with a Zoom finesse worm.

2025 MN Fishing Season thread
1/16oz Shakey head was the lure of the day at Coffee Cove - nothing huge, but 1.0#-1.5# is satisfying enough. First two were on Zoom Finesse Worm in Green Pumpkin Magic, last one decided it wanted a Finesse Worm in PB&J

Just in time for me to do another morning of shore fishing tomorrow. Last time I was out there, one guy got his limit of eating-size walleye there....maybe I'll luck out as well.- Truck Question
Both my trucks have had paint-matched Leer full toppers and I'd continue that trend if I got a 'new' truck in the future. Far as the bed - I'm a Rhino-Liner fan-boy.- Post a photo a day!
As well as can be expected - today was Day 4 of the chemo-cycle....WBC booster. Appetite's been flagging the last couple days, so I'm pounding Hi-protein drinks to at least get good nutrition if not a lot of calories. Hopefully it'll come back and I can eat the good stuff again.- Post a photo a day!
Same here - we're a little cooler with a 101 index By the time Tuesday comes around, predicted high for the day is 77- Frustrating Day
Considering that a couple of the bass I caught last time out were on my jig/bobber rig with worms....I think the shrimp might have a chance as well.- New baitcast rod for (old) beginner
I'm not familiar with either the Mettle or the Abu - I've got Daiwa and Pflueger for my casting reels.- Frustrating Day
Good to know - guess I'll be cooking some shrimp tomorrow for prep.- Frustrating Day
I'll be confirming or debunking that on Tuesday morn....we'll see if that works down here as well as "Up Nord".- New baitcast rod for (old) beginner
I forgot one too - CG is a graphite frame - still the same internal workings.- New baitcast rod for (old) beginner
Personally, I'd up it to the CA-80 - same reel but Aluminum frame instead of Carbon-Composite frame (second letter notes the frame material - C=Carbon, R=Resin, A=Aluminum)- Braid to fluoro with knot preferences
Braid Brand - Sufix 832 or Sufix Revolve (Seaguar Smackdown if I've got extra cash) Lb Test - Revolve for 6# or 8#, 832 or Smackdown for heavier line FC Brand - Seaguar InvizX (Seaguar Tatsu if I'm feeling spendy) Lb Test - depends on the braid I'm using Knot(s) used - FG when I'm setting up at home before a trip - Albright if I have to redo a leader on the water.- New baitcast rod for (old) beginner
Would help if it was spelled correctly "Daiwa Aird-X"...plop a Fuego CT on it and you've got a winning, decent price combo - one I used for a few years before upgrading.- Went blue gill fishin and found my new favorite bait.
I'm so far away from my fly whipping days that it'd take more time that I got left to get back into it....but yes, it was a lot of fun... - Heat Dome.
