  1. For me, it'd depend on how cute she was.
  2. I'd try them to see if the bass want them. I've used 'cheap lures' and had success. Can't hurt anything, and if they work - it saves you money.
  3. Nail biter - right now my three remaining guys are #2, #3, & #4
  4. For 6'6", ya -those are the Fury models I'm running a Fury 702SF for general finesse Diawa Procyon 701LFS for Neds. Ned works in stained water too...just saying.
  5. "An average bass boat can run at shallow depths between 24″ and 12″. https://www.flatbottomboatworld.com/what-is-the-average-draft-of-a-bass-boat/
  6. I'll just say 'Ditto' I use a 1-power rod for Neds 2-power for pretty much everything else finesse
  7. For me with my rigs? Spinners go on a 7.1-7.3 (President, President-XT, Supreme) Buzzbaits go on a 7.9-8.1 (Patriarch, Fuego CT-XS)
  8. Okaaay....what flavor Kool-Aid are they drinking?
  9. ^ I'm with the Norseman there - Swedish, Finnish and German blood here - I turn into a lobster. Even on the hottest days I'm in long pants, long-sleeved T and a hat.
  10. Yes - moving up in the ranks. Now if my three remaining people can pull ahead.
  11. Well, three of my boys made it to tomorrow - Seth missed it by 3 ounces....(wails)
  12. Same reason I'm using a light (1-power) for my Ned work. 1000 reel equipped with light FC and I feel every pebble my Ned bounces off as I drag it along.
  13. I would partially agree with @ironbjorn - the FR703SF is a ML+ - little more sturdy than a true ML, but not quite up to M standards. Saying that, I actually use a L rod for Neds - Procyon 701LFS, 1/16-3/8oz lure rating.
  14. I'm using Dragon Touch Vision 3s - the new Vision 4 has an external mic that can clip to your collar and EIS. At $50, they do a pretty good job.
  15. I've got a shoulder mount. Power cable zip-tied to the mesh of my PFD, external battery in the pocket...doesn't pick up the breathing near as much. Gets a decent angle despite the beard being partially in the way.
  16. Tie a loop in the end of your line, hook a scale to it and pull...when the drag starts slipping - look at the scale.
  17. Stepped outside for a cig and had this visitor perched on the corner of the garage roof
  18. Small lily-pad patches...not the huge spreads some areas get, but the 50-60 square foot isolated ones. Some of my best bass have come out of those.
  19. Uh no - reviewing footage and hearing some of the things I say...suffice to say it's not for public consumption. Plan on more filming/editing/posting this year - even started the walk-through of the canoe mods...but I gotta write a script - the first couple takes were disjointed.
  20. 4" screen was hard to see - my remaining eye isn't as young as it use to be. Oh I hear you there - I buy on the 'cheap' where I can. I've yet to pay over $100 for any of my rods or reels, and I'm happy with them. I'd like to have better/more expensive rigs, but on my income it's not going to happen.
  21. I just did a search and look around. General consensus is that 1hp is around 75#-100# thrust - so your 112# TM is equal to a 1.1-1.5hp motor. Not going to get you anywhere fast.
  22. Just as a comparison, my canoe with gear and me weighs around 450lbs. With a 30# TM I can hit 2.8mph full out on a calm day - tail wind would increase that, head wind decrease. That's 1# thrust for every 15lbs mass to reach just under 3mph Know what your pontoon with everything weighs? Quick calc based on weight and TM thrust will get you in the ballpark.
  23. Maybe two - that's how long I lasted with the Hook 2-4 before I caved and got the Striker 7.
  24. Having a canoe, not a kayak, I can still say with some confidence.... Nope - the 'watercraft monkey' is as insidious a beast as the bait monkey.
