  1. The T-Wing system is lighter than the standard aperture system - there's the weight difference The couple extra bearings are in the handle-knobs. Same frame, same spool, same main gears - the Tat-CT is just an 'upgraded' Fuego-CT
  2. Tom's got the right of it - we just had conditions like that here. 80+ highs for a couple days, then dropped into the 50s. Water temp in the shallow (under 15' average depth) lakes in the area dropped 1 degree at the surface. Air temp drops are not going to affect anything below 3'-4' enough to matter unless it goes on for a couple weeks.
  3. Ya - and it's basically the same reel...T-Wing is the only major difference between the Fuego-CT and the Tatula-CT.
  4. All mine stand in the corner "We don't need no stinkin' rod racks!"
  5. For me it's easier to slow down than speed up - so in that case I'd go with the 8...or wait until they have the 7 in stock.
  6. Welcome to the Minnesota gang, Dave. And yes, that's a nice rig.
  7. I buy rods based on what I want to do with them and cost - the handle material is a non issue. Saying that - of my 14 rods (12 canoe and 2 shore): 3 are full cork, 5 are cork with EVA butts and 6 are full EVA - all split-grips.
  8. Mostly I sit. Only times I always stand is to flip/pitch.
  9. The beast is what's behind the wheel of either. Nice rigs there, pal.
  10. I guess a lot of it is what you're use to. Last year I had 10# YZH (12# mono diameter) on my Trion-35 and had no issues. This year I'll have 10# Advance Mono on a President XT-30 and 12# InvizX on the T-35...I've already spooled them up and so far they're behaving themselves. Course I use KVD L&L without fail on any non-braid line...that could be part of it.
  11. Different strokes - I find it easier to slow down than speed up. Might be my age, but I prefer a 7 for my bladed jigs.
  12. Sorry - can't...the site I enter contests on isn't welcome here.
  13. Check other fishing web-sites - several run contests. The one where I entered for the lure-box has given away rods, reels, line, lures, clothing and even a sonar.
  14. A Jewel Fish Tools box of baits and terminal tackle.
  15. There was one on another site - but it ended yesterday...waiting to see if I was one of the winners.
  16. Well, there's the problem right there - braid is very buoyant and you'd need a long leader (12'+) to overcome that enough to get the plastic down further without weight. I'd personally toss it on a different rig that has FC as mainline - leave the braid behind for weightless plastics like worms, flukes, etc. For this, I'd actually got lighter - I have 1/16oz bullets for really light tossing. This is actually my preferred method of getting flukes down further. 1/16oz and 1/8oz are what I have for belly-weighted hooks depending on A: what plastic I'm using and B: How deep I want it to go.
  17. (waggles his hand) I'm not that OCD about it, but I do have black, GP and un-colored weights that I switch out to closer match the plastic...when I remember to do so...usually I'll just leave the GP one's on as a nice, neutral color.
  18. I may have broken it - I entered early this morning after the post went up on FB...sorry guys.
  19. Ya - if it's questionable if the tow-weight is getting close to that 75% limit - make sure the boat-trailer has surge brakes or at least electrically operated brakes that engage when the truck's brakes are applied. I would personally have the brakes if the total towed weight was 50% or more of the towing vehicle's capacity...in your case, that would be 3400lbs.
  20. Ya, I've become virtually dependent on it myself for both spinners and BCs since I mono-back everything - even when I'm using mono or hybrid as mainline.
  21. Darn it all - I was about to point him to the advanced page myself...was typing it up when you sneaked in.
  22. Get a spool of 8# Berkley Big Game, half fill the reel, tie the braid to the Big Game with a double uni-knot, then fill the rest of the spool with the braid. You might not use up the entire 100yds, but it'll give you plenty of the braid on the spool. Always try to fish with a full spool.
  23. ^ I hear that - the two Reflections I got were after a long search for exactly those reasons.
  24. May the doctors skill not waver, may the nurses be attentive and may Chris come out of this as well as she can be.
