  1. There's also this site that tracks water temp for 11,000 lakes across the country. https://www.beachtemp.us/
  2. I haven't subjected them to a 'field test under operational conditions' - but the bench testing has been very nice. Light, responsive and balances well with the reels I have on them I have 2 - both spinning. 7' ML/MF 7' MH/F I have one Laguna that I still use - sort of. I'd pay the extra $20 for the Aird-X...it's well worth it.
  3. I've handled Dobyns Colts - prefer the Aird-X to them.
  4. Going up to $100 Diawa Procyon Okuma Reflections And as Kev said - Dobyns Fury when on sale
  5. One that I still have 2 of in my arsenal despite the Okumas and Dobyns I've replaced others with. Diawa Aird-X
  6. Something to keep an eye out on - if it's too expensive, I'll pass. I already play one that's pretty much free unless you want special items...and I haven't needed any of them and consistently place in the top 5 if I pound on it all day.
  7. My light rod has a 1000 size, my two medium-lights are a 1000 size and a 2000 size.
  8. Keeps me off the lake as well...I wanna test this year's canoe mods.
  9. Lavlin RC-212 - it's a red wine yeast, 14% tolerance and I usually take it to the max, kill the yeast, then sweeten it a little.
  10. If you can get access so that you can see the entire interior of the tanks - a quart bottle of isopropyl alcohol in a spray bottle. Rinse the entire interior of the tank, siphon out, then compressed air/time to get the last of the alcohol to evaporate. If you can remove the tank - do so, dump a bottle of iso-alcohol in, swish it around making sure to hit all surfaces, dump it out and dry it as above.
  11. Domination?
  12. Same as in any internal combustion engine - none. If there's water in your tank, you need to do one of two things. 1: Drain the tank completely, use some sort of water removing system to get the last drops of water out...you want to end up with a tank that's completely bone dry...put in new gas - preferably ethanol free 2: Replace the tank.
  13. Actually this is unusual - average daily high for April is 55 around here. And still is relative - Lake Minnetonka is fed by a number of streams and the water exits at Minnehaha Creek - which just before it flows into the Mississippi is this.
  14. Carolina rigs get tossed on my Supreme - which is a 7.1:1
  15. Come on George, you'd have fun with that and you know it.
  16. 8# on a 2500 reel - here's what I'd use it for it was my only rig Finesse techniques - Ned, Drop-shot, Wacky Plastics - Weightless worms/flukes, light T-Rigs (up to 1/4oz weight) Hardbaits - Light cranks, jerks, spinnerbaits to 1/4oz (plus trailer) Bobber fishing - Definitely suited for that...even slip-bobber with small jigs and plastics under for crappie For all that - I'd go with a medium power rod; fast or moderate-fast action.
  17. I don't use braid on spinning reels with bushings for the line-roller - which the Sienna FG has. I want a bearing there - which my Avocet RZT's do have.
  18. I think we can call winter done.
  19. There's a number of good mono lines out there - Berkley Trilene XL or Sufix Elite are both good and reasonably priced. I would not use braid on that reel.
  20. 1: Most I've ever put on a spinning reel is 10# Yo-Zuri and that was a 3000 size. 2: I'd get the 2500 reel and put 8# on it for general use 3: The 1000 size with 4# or 6# would be a good finesse reel 4: The 500 size is a trout/panfish reel - too small for bass 5: The 4000 size would be a northern/muskie reel - too unwieldy for bass
  21. Man after my own heart. I also make wine every few years from the black raspberry patch in my yard. Trade a few bottles with an acquaintance who makes mead and melomel.
  22. At some point you'll be allowed edit it to be something else - like mine is a custom one I came up with.
  23. If you're use to slow-rolling spinners near the bottom, you shouldn't have an issue slowing the retrieve for chatters. As I said earlier - same rod/reel for both here.
  24. I stay away from anything labeled 'Apple' as a matter of course. I also tried Win-10 a few times - immediately cleared my HD and restored my Win-7 image backup I'd made just prior to the 'upgrade'...I hate Win-10 with a passion. "You can have my Win-7 when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers."
  25. Or upgrade your browser - I'm seeing the pic just fine...even in the quoted posts. Win-7 Pro FireFox 87.0
