  1. Supposedly, they still have anti-reverse. Did you try turning the handle backwards...if it turns and the bail spins in reverse - then it had no anti-reverse. If you can't turn it, or the bail doesn't spin in reverse, then it has anti-reverse. Everything I've heard is that they're just removing the switch, making it not possible to back-reel...that's all...the anti-reverse is still there.
  2. I just wish the locals who like shooting off illegal fireworks would stop...or be stopped. BTW: High today was 75. 84 predicted tomorrow...then the bottom drops out
  3. You still have instant anti-reverse...just can't turn it off now for those who like to back-reel.
  4. Realize that the 1/2oz is JUST for the lead in the head. Now add the hook, wire, blades, skirt and any trailer you're putting on it...that'll bring the weight near if not over the upper end of that rod.
  5. Based on the printed stats - that looks like a Medium power to me. I'll throw 1/4oz spinners on a Medium - 3/8oz and up gets a Medium-Heavy.
  6. To be clear - they didn't remove the anti-reverse...they just removed the switch that lets you turn it off. Pflueger is starting to do the same thing with their reels as well...the newest Trion model has no switch.
  7. When I was younger I played trumpet and guitar. Now-days I occasionally haul out my Zither just to keep in practice
  8. Even my very basic Hook 2-4 works this way.
  9. I'm running 50-50 - one spun up perfectly, the other needed a good cleaning/re-lube.
  10. Charger - this is the one I have and works just fine. It's even on sale right now for $33 - https://www.westmarine.com/buy/west-marine--automatic-2a-battery-charger--14982037?recordNum=5 With the 'cigarette lighter' plug, you can plug it right into the accessory port on the MinnKota box.
  11. I'm doing a double-uni for all my line joins and it works alright. I've worked on learning the Albright, Alberto and FG, but being an 'aging one-eyed wonder', they're all difficult for me to do and I still don't have them down enough to make them right.
  12. Sealant - you're trying to prevent water from getting through.
  13. 1 - Yes. I have mine hooked up through 10' of wire from the terminals on the box to a socket back by the TM on my canoe. The TM and the Charger have the matching plugs...so it's plug-n-play. So I'm charging through a plug, 10' of wire and the box terminals. Yes, it's a MinnKota Power Center.
  14. Ya, except he has a gift card and... "Amazon.com Gift Cards cannot be used as a payment method to place an order using Amazon Pay. " https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Pay/b?ie=UTF8&node=19185228011
  15. You mean like this? https://www.ebay.com/c/1210156203
  16. Ditto that - both my Fuegos have the spool tension set to leave just a bit of play side-to-side...so 0 tension. I do all my cast control on those with the brakes only.
  17. He has an Amazon gift card for this - can't spend those at SO.
  18. Did they put a regular guide on it or a tip-top. Also, losing 5" of a rod will change it's action...I'd consider getting a replacement. You can find decent rods at affordable prices...my M/F spinning rod is an Aird-X and they run around $50.
  19. SOME people say to us FC leaders - others will pick mono. Myself, I use copolymer - Yo-Zuri Hybrid - as leader material for my two braid rigs.
  20. Good to hear you have the comforts of life back. And the necessities - coffee is NOT an optional item.
  21. 6# should be fine - I use it on my finesse rig, but as long as you got the drag set properly you shouldn't have an issue.
  22. I would up the braid on the BC to 30# minimum - I've used 20# on a BC, but it's pretty finicky. Also when spooling it up, make sure it's tight...dig in (where the line buries itself under other loops) is a major cause of backlash. Spinning - even on my 3000 size, I'm only running 10# test...that's about the max you want on spinning gear unless you get into big (4000+ size) reels. Line: Braid - Sufix 832...it's a bit more expensive than others, but I've liked it more than the Power Pro Original I was using. Mono - Sufix Elite...very affordable...I have it on 2 of my spinning rigs and it's been very good.
  23. The braking system. Cx series has the standard MagForce - really no different than the brakes on my Pfluegers. The Fuego has the MagForce-Z system, which is much improved over the non 'Z' brakes.
  24. Well, a Big TRD weighs just under 1/4oz, so you'd be just under 5/16 total. Go to Amazon - you can get Fuegos there for under $90.
