  1. Light to moderate cover I shoot with my Trion loaded with 12# FC Heavier cover it's the President with 20# Braid...no leader
  2. I treat my rods as the rating is total weight. So for a T-Rig on a rod rated 5/8, I'd use a 1/2oz bullet weight max. The worm may push it a little over 5/8, but as long as you don't go overboard it's fine.
  3. I'd do the same with my Fuego, except it's too difficult to traipse through the nearly 2' of snow in my backyard. And it's official. February this year is the snowiest February on record - 30+" so far with more coming.
  4. Everyone has different experiences. Myself - I'm more comfortable with a Fast action rod, no matter the power.
  5. Single or twin-tail grubs have been my go-tos for trailers.
  6. I run straight 8# Mono on my finesse rig - drop-shot, Ned, weightless worms/critters, etc.
  7. Only 12 states ban switchblades...Minnesota is one of those.
  8. I'd go with the 7.3:1. It's easier to slow your cranking - less fatigue too - than to speed it up.
  9. The 30 would be a good, all-around reel. The 25 has a smaller spool and only holds 90 yds of 6# mono where-as the 30 holds 145yds of 6# or 130yds of 8#.
  10. This gives me reassurance that auto-inflate vests are safe. Next Christmas I may use some of my present-money to purchase one.
  11. Finally - the answer to a question I posted earlier. I was wondering how deep you had to go for the auto-release to activate. Wouldn't help much if it took 4 feet of water pressure to do it - if you're knocked unconscious, you could take in a lungful or two of water before it got you back to the surface.
  12. And of course they had to toss more snow into the mix - between tonight and tomorrow another 5"-11" of the 'White Death' inundating us.
  13. I forget where I got the info, but my Endura C2-30 pulls at indicated speeds - Speed 1 - 8 amps Speed 2 - 10 amps Speed 3 - 14 amps Speed 4 - 20 amps Speed 5 - 30 amps A little searching for your model will get the info you need.
  14. Sorry @J Francho, given the truly subjective nature of Polygraph tests and this quote from the link I provided before - "For now, although the idea of a lie detector may be comforting, the most practical advice is to remain skeptical about any conclusion wrung from a polygraph." - any rules that state a Polygraph may be given is reason enough for me to not enter.
  15. It's not that I wouldn't like to fish a tournament, but with the various rules they enforce it's not worth the headaches. Boat tournaments here basically preclude my canoe as they have a massive advantage of reaching the fishing spots from the launch points. The Kayak tournaments here - even thought the Kayak group accepts Canoe owners as members, requires their tournament fishing to be from a Kayak...period. So, no tournaments for me - which is a bummer.
  16. Go get the Lock-Tite - blue for a screw of this size.
  17. That's the problem right there...mine were fulfilled NOT by Amazon, but by the vendor.
  18. Our 2 week forecast Slowly warming this week, nudging above freezing (34) with some snow on Saturday...then dropping back to the teens and single digits for highs after that. Winter is never going to end
  19. I still have the bike I bought when I was a teenager (I'm 59 now). A Bridgestone Kabuki Super Light 10 speed. Get it serviced regularly - 2 years ago got new rims, tires and replaced the rear deraileur. Going strong since 1975.
  20. That makes it easy for me...I just won't fish any tournaments. Why they decide to use a system that the courts state is unreliable enough to establish 'reasonable doubt' is beyond me.
  21. Polygraphs - "Courts, including the United States Supreme Court (cf. U.S. v. Scheffer, 1998 in which Dr.'s Saxe's research on polygraph fallibility was cited), have repeatedly rejected the use of polygraph evidence because of its inherent unreliability." https://www.apa.org/research/action/polygraph I'd refuse the test and sue if they demanded that you had to take a polygraph or forfeit.
  22. I can get behind this - today is the warmest it's been in weeks...and we're still not breaking freezing.
  23. I don't pay a premium for FC line. I've been using Stren Flourocast for years without an issue...and it's only a buck or two more than Mono per spool. The joining knot would have to be deep enough on the spool to not interfere with the casting, especially on Spinning Reels. Figure your longest cast, add 15 yards to that, and cut back that amount. Blood Knot or Double Uni Knot would be the best for joining lines far as I know.
